Cross-fit training and RA
I have had to stop Enbrel after 10 years because of expense. I'm trying cross-fit training as a replacement. Any experiences? Bulling my way through RA as it were.

RA nurse tomorrow for next drug
9.39 appointment, I am sure the rheumatologist said last time that I am going onto abatacept. (But I do have a head like a sieve, so could be wrong). I have only been on mxt since enbrel was stopped in July, had a major flare up for 3 weeks, but rheumy gave me the magic steroid jab, so am not too bad

Good result from seeing rheumatologist this afternoon
Well, that was a good consult, I will soon be starting on etanacept, lets hope it works better than the enbrel. Was told that some of may pain is due to having a big fibro flare up at the same time. To tide me over until I get the injections, I was asked if I would like a steroid jab..... no prizes

And the wait goes on!
Sing this to the tune of And the Beat goes on! Went to the hospital for pre op assessment for my foot. Very surprised to find the nurse was filling in a brand new form. Asked why the old one couldn't be updated and she told me that when the operation was cancelled in July, I came off the waiting list

Been wearing sandals for the last 3 months already, no closed ill fitting shoes or boots. I have also not hurt or bumped my feet. I am going to see the podiatrist next but was curious to know if anybody had experienced this. Thanks

knowing the difference between RA pain, and OA (osteoarthritis) pain
I have OA & RA, and am really suffering badly at the moment. I see my consultant on the 25th. My RA nurse once said that the 'feel' of an inflammation is different (RA joint feels soft/spongy, OA feels hard), but how can I differentiate pain? As I have both RA & OA in my hands for instance... my fingers

getting it right
Next week will be 3 yrs since diagnosed :( I was put onto MXT.. then later on, onto Leflunomide. Then late last year, that was stopped and I was given Enbrel,(after having ultrasound scans= active inflammation) this July review and the RA consult said it was not working as it should, so I was prescribed

Six months on Enbrel and good feedback from Rheumatology appointment.
Hello all, I've had some ups and downs whilst being on Enbrel this last six months, but I would say there are are more ups than downs. To start with I don't have any stiffness at all and my pain levels are reduced. However, I had a bad flare-up a few weeks ago and discovered from the clinical nurse that

Waiting some more
Just to let you know that I saw my Rheumy last Thursday. Apparently I have Methotrexate Pneumonitis which has caused the lung inflammation so I am off MTX permanently. He is also referring me to the Chest consultant at the N & N Hospital, Norwich for lung function tests and for the chest consultant

My fingers lock and I find it extreamly painful when I try to open them, this happens throughout the day and at night when I am asleep. I would appreciate any suggestions, I am taking Ibruprofen and other

PREDNISONE TAPERING
Do to a recent flare up after a Remicade treatment, roughly a week later, not because the Remicade. I had to increase my prednisone up to 32 mgs from 29 to where I was trying to drop it from 30mgs. I call it the itch, the feeling when you know the ulcerations are coming through and you cant stop them
