What can I do to break through this plateau?
I'm so upset right now. It's like every time I step on the scales I see worse results, but I've been following the plan faithfully. I have been trying to lose weight since 15 Jan, and in the first 4 weeks I lost an average of 1 1/2 lbs per week, but over the last 4 weeks my weight suddenly stagnated

Big hello!
I've been lurking about on the community board over the last few days and I thought I would say hi to all you nice people (and thanks for being inspiring!) I've always been a 'big girl' but after years of resigning myself to being overweight due to medication and a mood disorder (that really drove

What is the difference between primary and secondary care services for anorexia?
Saw my CBT nurse last friday and because funding is being cut she told me that primary care will no longer be able to see anorexic patients, they will only see bulimic and binge eaters. She told me I will have to be referred to secondary care, this might have not have been for a few weeks but because

My snacks
Just thoght I'd let you guys know about some low calorie snacks that have kept me going these last 5 weeks. I love the pink and white marshmellow wafer things, they are only 50 calories each. If I've stayed to around 1100 calories in a day ill treat myself to a curly wurly once I've put the kids to

The challenge of living with myself.
Good morning. It's been a difficult few weeks, been over-emotional, crying in inappropriate situations and so anxious over silly things. I have recently started slimming world so I have been cutting out binge eating of chocolate and crisps....I am not sure if it's the reason for my low mood but

Put up the 12 week plan on my calendar :)
All excited to begin and most importantly stick to the exercise and controlled diet regimen. Did a lot of reading on balanced diets and having a more active lifestyle - quite motivating. I have a BMI of 26...hope to bring it down to 20. Had my son last year and have lost most of the pregnancy weight

Hi! I've just found this site, what a relief. I was referred (2009) by my mental health support worker for CBT, it was obvious I have a bad relationship with food and am an emotional eater, there are many reasons for this. However, I didn't get CBT as my son passed away so the counselling dealt with

Housebound with anxiety and need to move across the country soonish. Help? (possibly TMI)
I've been housebound with GAD/toilet phobia/IBS for over a year now. I live in the south with my 3yr old daughter, but want to move up to Liverpool some point soon for both financial and personal reasons. Only thing is, I have no idea how I will be able to do that. There are people around who can pack

Hi Fellow Weight Loss Bus Riders .. I'm curious to know ...
I was wondering - as I'm inclined to do from time to time - just what made you 'take the plunge' so as to speak? I've been recently thinking, quite often, how I should have started this weight loss journey ages ago. And I guess, for me, seeing those Hairy Biker guys - two ordinary blokes -

Is yellowing around and inside my eyes a sign of liver damage?
I've has anorexia for over 2 years now and have put my body through hell in that time. Constantly losing weight, exercising excessively and then putting on a little weight before I freak out as I'm scared I'm getting too fat and then start to lose weight again and on and on it goes in a vicious circle

Ladies and Gentlemen...Start your measurements!
Hi everyone. How many of you have done your weekly weigh in today, jumped on the scales feeling lighter but the scales say you've lost nothing? Its important to remember that your scales dont measure your actual size and that extra measurements help. If you havent taken them before then start today

Sleepless nights galore!
I read some of the comments and my heart goes out to everyone.I wish I had a secret remedy I could hand on. I can recommend reflexology for complete relaxation therapy. Also see if you have a 'walk in' healing centre near you as they are often given free with perhaps a small donation. Today I am having

If you're looking for yet another reason to lose weight ....
.... you might like to try this one. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-21299550 The bit that hit me was:- "By eating healthily, being physically active and keeping to a healthy weight, we estimate that about a third of the most common cancers could be prevented."
