Hoping to quit
Hi. I've got nicotine patches ready to quit smoking on Wednesday. I'm worried that I'll lose my resolve and when Wednesday comes I'll be tempted to postpone my start date. Any tips please?

Relationships Between Thyroid Hormones, Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1 & Antioxidant Levels in Hypothalamic Amenorrhea & on Bone Metabolism
Another paper which points at low T3 affecting bone mass density. The context might be particular, but the connection seems just what we have been seeing elsewhere. [i]Horm Metab Res. 2019 Mar 7. doi: 10.1055/a-0859-4285. [Epub ahead of print]

PSA rising. The trend is not my friend.
I'm in a pickle and would like to ask for your suggestions. The following is my PSA history. As you can see it is rising. The quandary is that those of us who have had radiation as our primary treatment still have a prostate in some form. My RO and urologist both said don't worry yet. We do get bounces

Testosterone.
New German-U.S. paper below [1]. Somewhat off-topic, but I know that a lot of men still regard testosterone [T] as PCa "fuel". It's not surprising. I was born at the start of the Huggins era & I'm astonished that we are still living in it. Huggins basically got his Nobel Prize for discovering that

Estrogen level HIGHER after ovary removal?!?
Has anyone else had this happen?!! I had my ovaries out on 1-11-2019 Get this craziness.... at my last appt I asked for them to recheck my estradiol (estrogen level) to make sure it had gone down to an acceptable range after my ovary removal. She didn’t think it was necessary but I insisted. I don’t

Opinion on Thyroid/Hormone results
Hi Would it be possible to get an opinion on my Thyroid/Hormone results. I have several symptoms (more noticeable over the last year) and thought they may be Thyroid/Hormone related (some include: fatigue/low energy, difficulty concentrating, mood swings, hair loss/thinning, low libido/weak erections

The worst migranes ever after coming off the evra patch..
Hi all I was wondering if anyone could share some experiences/advice. I came off my evera patch last saturday (so it's been 8 days today) and since I've come off it I've been experiencing the WORST migranes ever. I can barely keep my eyes open and this has been happening for the last 5 days to date.

NHS Endo test results - all normal - thoughts please ...
Hi - I have finally been to see an NHS endocrinologist. It felt like something of a 'tick box exercise'. My GP agreed to the referral because I had a low serum cortisol result and because (whilst my TSH is 'normal') my FT4 is at the bottom of the scale and I've been pushing for investigation of a possible

Damned if you do, damned if you don't! Tamoxifen
A couple of knowledgeable folks on this forum have suggested the use of Tamoxifen (TAM) to reduce the side effect of gynecomastia related to some hormonal PCa therapies. Since my recent use of transdermal estradiol gel, I have developed a small amount of breast adipose tissue and a bit of nipple tenderness

Cardiac arrhythmia considerations of hormone cancer therapies.
Following on from my recent "Tachycardia" post, here is a new French-American paper on treatment arrhythmia: "Breast and prostate cancers are among the most prevalent cancers worldwide. Estradiol and progesterone are major drivers for breast cancer proliferation, as well as androgens for prostate cancer

Should I be on any medication?
Hi there - I was diagnosed with Hashimotos just over two years ago and have had my thyroid levels checked three times over the past two and a half years. My doctor keeps telling me that I'm fine but I'm wondering whether I should be on any medication? I'm taking a range of vitamins as I was low on Iodine

Frustrated - please help me with my battle plan :)
In the United States... So, last year my daughter was diagnosed hypothyroid. In studying up on that, I suspected I was too - brain fog, fatigue, low basal temp, high bp, insomnia, mild depression among other things. In Nov. I got doc to order labs. He wanted to take a wait and see based on numbers

Advice - Pituitary and Sex Hormone Levels
Hi again to all of you helpful people! Having added a private (medichecks) blood panel to my latest results, I would like some advice regarding the results, and my next steps. A second cortisol test ruled out Primary Adrenal Insufficiency, and hence I did not have a Short Synacthen Test done. The only

Help requested interpreting lab results
Hi all, I would very much appreciate your help in interpreting my latest lab results, see below. I decided to have FT3 and rT3 and other values checked in a private lab because my endo didn't do so. Reason is remaining hypo symptoms. My levo has been increased from 0.137 to 0.15 per day since mid December

Help with New blood results. Started with functional Doc and want to know your thoughts. Thanks
I am Male. I started going to a functional Doctor as I have gotten tired of dealing with GP's that will not look at anything else but TSH and getting nowhere with them. The blood results are all requested by my functional Doc. With the results she has put me on LDN 1.5mg. Switched from Synthroid
