Diabetes and flying

Hi my wife has been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in Tenerife.Does she have to have a doctors note to fly to uk.Can she take insulin epipen and needles onto plane in hand luggage.ls this classed as liquids and does it have to be put in a special container or bag.Any advice please .This is all new to us

I work in a hospital and I do know that patients usually take a doctor's note with them so they are allowed to carry their insulin and needles in hand luggage on a flight. Hope this helps Rh53. I don't fly so I don't have this problem.

I just flew from California to Missouri. I had my insulin pen and the needles that go with it. I put them in their tray with my wallet, keys and watch. The syringes, insulin, and glucose test items were in a small case that went through the scanner. If it will fit you can put your diabetes items in your luggage.
