Parps
I found out yesterday I am BRAC negative. I was diagnosed with Stage 2b High Grade Serous Carcinoma in July, finished chemo last month. My cancer nurse mentioned that I might need to go on parp inhibitors, she would talk to my oncologist. I have no experience of parps. Do parps slow down/stop the return

worry about the future with stage 4 cancer and RLS and ILMD
I have been following this website for about nine months and wanting to give up Ropinerole but have put off doing it as I have been undergoing treatment for cancer I.e. surgery and radiotherapy. I thought once that was over I would be able to get an appointment with a London clinic to support me through

Hi there. Hope you’re all going ok? I had my first scan ( CT with contrast) since July 2020 on 2nd December 2022 ( Prof Christina Fotopoulou advised me to have after seeing her on 21st Nov ). Prof CF phoned me on 5th December to let me know the scan results showed there was no evidence of disease

Low WBC at 7 weeks after final chemo - anyone experience this?
I'm on Lupron (since May, 2022) and finished my 6th round of chemo (docetaxel) about 7 weeks ago. Got Neulasta the day after each round and counts came back nicely, except after the last (6th). One week after last chemo, my WBC was 3.1. Since then it has been bouncing around between 1.7 and 2.8; yesterday

Revolutionary gene therapy offers hope for untreatable cancers
This is pretty fundamental Seems like there should be no reason this would not work with prostate cancer Revolutionary gene therapy offers hope for untreatable cancers | Cancer research | The Guardian Https://www.theguardian.com/science/2022/dec/11/revolutionary-gene-therapy-offers-hope-untreatable-cancers

A Natural Weapon of War
To all of my fighting brothers and helping sisters, I wanted to add one additional item beyond my post for "My Cousin John Is Gone"; it has to do with chemotherapy and how to naturally preserve red and white blood cell counts before, during and after chemo, fully supported by science. Perhaps you have

Timing of scans?
How often are people having scans after chemo? I last had a scan in August 22 when I finished front line chemo. I have since started maintenance then stopped to have a lymph node removed and restarted again. I was of the understanding I would get one every 3 months for at least a year but this doesn't

Treatment change to Xeloda - chemo 💊
I have started the first round of Xeloda a chemo pill 💊. Taking 4 pills twice daily for 14 days then 7 days off. So far so good, none of the side effects as of yet. I am prepared however. Our hope 🙏🏾 is that it will reduce and/or eliminate my cancer met tumors to lung cavity and liver. I would love

my 58 y/o partner diagnosed with non small cell lung cancer in mediastinum with lymph node involvement and bone mets
hi there. Not really sure what to ask as this is such a huge shock as it has been so quick. However, after much hassle and pushing for tests the above diagnosis was made. We were told they may not give chemo due to his deranged bloods and liver function tests. However, if they do decide it’s platinum

Chemo for Pelvic Lymph Nodes
Hi all, When I was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer 3.5 years ago, I had small mets scattered on my spine and mets in prostate and pelvic lymph nodes. The ADT has eliminated the spine mets, but the lymph nodes continue to grow. Will Chemo kill the lymph node mets or is it more effective for

Relation between reduction on blood thinning meds and reduction in GFR at the same time.
My GFR dropped to 51 after finishing my chemo and a change from anticoagulant injections to 10 mg per day apixaban 2 years ago. Had a DVT whilst undergoing chemo even though i tried to stay active. Four months ago my apixipan was reduced again to 5mg a day. My GFR has gone down to 41 not long after
