Quality of Life: What are your favorite "vices".
I think we all look for some normalcy in our journey. I'm searching for a vice compatible with cancer care....maybe it's the bad boy in me. I'm on a pain patch so alcohol is out. I'd be crazy to smoke (tobacco) given my cardiac profile. Sex is, well complicated--depending on current treatments. Gambling

Chemo, Liver Enzymes, and Working Out
Today I went in for cycle 3 of my 6 rounds of Decetaxel. I got my bloods taken yesterday and when I got there the nurse said my liver enzyme readings were high so they wanted to re-check them. From last cycle (15 Dec) to yesterday (3 Jan) to today (4 Jan): ALT went from 41 to 89 to 92. AST went from

Heading towards TAVR
I am elderly and have metastatic breast cancer which is kept under control with chemotherapy, targeted therapy and more ever-changing cancer drugs. Six and a half years ago, when first diagnosed, my heart was okay. Now, it seems it is a candidate for TAVR. As it stands now, if they clear up a flood

Can anyone comment on Stanford Medicine Health Care second opinion program?
How long did it take to get the second option, did it help guide you? My doctors are exploring cryotherapy, Brachy Therapy and surgery to remove the prostate. But ultimately, the final decision will be mine. I'm trying to understand the risk and success factors of each option. I was diagnosed 11/21

Still here today
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in January 2017. Had my prostate removed in March 2017. PSA was ok for a while but started rising in March 2019. Had 35 radiation treatments April-May 2019. Again PSA was ok for a while but started rising in Spring of 2021. A Pet scan showed a spot on my sternum

60-Year-Old Father, Stage 4 Prostate Cancer Gleason 9 Diagnosed 7 Months Ago. "Mixed Response" to Treatment.
I have an older post about my father's situation, if you're interested. In May 2022, my father was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer with extensive metastases and a high Gleason score. He started hormone therapy and the doctor recommended chemotherapy "as soon as his body could handle it." Currently

Chemo damaged my bone marrow.
I have had SCLC since February 2019. Went into remission in May 2019. A year later it reoccurred and I got chemo every month from July 2020 until August 2022 when my blood work wouldn’t improve. I’ve been anemic , receiving blood every few weeks. My neutrophils are very low and now blast cells are
