Good news story
Hi, I’ve been meaning to post this update for weeks but have been too well and busy! A shortish resume: Diagnosed 2018, paroxysmal AF treated with Bisopralol and Flecainide. Very symptomatic and intolerant of drugs. Feelings of passing out during episodes resulted in PM being fitted 2019. Episodes

~AV Node ablation update~
To my dear travelling companions who have been down this path - just wanted to share my situation thus far and wonder if this resonates with your journey....... would love to know. Been struggling with extreme fatigue, sometimes dizziness, unsteady on feet, weak in legs, swollen lower legs/ankles.

~AV Node ablation - 3 days post op~
~I would be most grateful to learn if anyone who may have had an av node ablation has found breathing a bit more difficult post op? If so will this just be part and parcel of the AV node ablation? Whilst I feel I am slowly healing I note that my pacemaker was reprogrammed to DDIR (whatever that means

One failed catheter ablation in Jan 2023, massive worsening of symptoms in July 2023 clearly indicating vagal nerve involvement. My very nice cardiologist (Professor) recommends another cath ablation or drug therapy which I know will not work, e.g. can't breathe well after betablocker and developed extreme

Afib and Atrial tachycardia ...
Hi all, Long story short, I've had arrhythmia for years, Afib and SVT. 4 ablations later, last year they fitted me with a dual chamber pacemaker and had an AV Node ablation. I still have an ILR fitted and from the uploads of a night from my monitor, they have found I'm having Atrial Tachycardia,

Post Second Ablation help pls
HiBeen a while since I posted. AF episodes continued so was placed on waiting list for 2nd Ablation procedure which I had yesterday. 2 lead pacemaker to CRT PM
HiHad a 2 lead PM fitted 21 months ago following AV node ablation and since then I have developed heart failure and AF. Had three visits to heart failure clinic and been prescribed ramipril, bisoprolol and dapagliflozin. Cardiologist has stated a short term therapy of amiodarone may help get me back

Anaesthetic ablation.
I’m in Oz. Had a successful (so far) catheter ablation last year. Twilight anaesthesia. Not GA. No problem and no after affects.

post ablation
I had a catheter ablation at Bart’s in London ten days ago. I am told it was successful and to expect the odd ectopic beat for up to 8 weeks. Last night I went into atrial fibrillation and I was somewhat shocked and upset as I didn’t think I would get a full episode. Has anyone any experience of this

Update and Plan
Well, I feel pretty good about my EP appt. today. He was really succinct about a plan, goals, and end game. So he has proposed in ascending order, four medications to try. He is starting with the mildest and going to the strongest. He is recommending to start with Bisoprolol, then Verapamil, then Sotolol

Pressure on mid back causing AF to come on.
I was diagnosed with af maybe 4 years ago. Because mefications made me unwell i was finally fitted with a pacemaker in prepation for AV node ablation. Once the pm was fitted i was able to forgo the node ablation. In the last few months ive been getting especially at night short breathed and coughing

CRT-P
I am due to have a CRT-P implant and an AV node ablation. If others out there have had this I would like to know what is what like and did it improve their quality of life. It is so difficult to ask the professionals question, so left feeling very nervous about these procedures.. All the posts are

rogue beats
I had a catheter ablation on Wednesday. Up till now, I was not really getting many problems with my heart, but since early this morning, I’ve had quite a lot of episodes of missing heartbeats, some go on longer than others and it feels like my heart is going to stop. The beat is not the same as the

Dual chamber pacemaker and HF
Hi, had a dual chamber pacemaker fitted back in July 2022 following AV node ablation. Now have HF, told by HF nurse possible cause may be due to the pacing of the R/H chambers causing strain to the L/H as it needs work harder Had symptoms of HF since being paced, HF just confirmed in the last week through

A “success story” , finally.
I have been suffering the effects of AF plus the negative side of the meds for many years. Fortunately, after taking me two years considering the last option I went ahead. And in July 2023 I have a pacemaker insertion then in November had the AV Node ablation. It was needed a few weeks/months to deal

cancelled ablation
I was having a catheter ablation next Wednesday, but they rang me this morning, saying it’s cancelled because of the Doctors strike. I am so cross. I have been waiting for this for well over a year and was gearing myself up for it and now I have no idea when it will take place. The only people suffering

I have a 7 year history of AFIB and have my second Cardiac Ablation on Wednesday. I have paroxysmal AFIB not so bad after last ablation 18 months ago, but as luck has it I haven't had an episode for two weeks. Last time my consultant said they can induce it forthe ablation, which they did. does anyone

Cryoablation time! (Sorry folks, has since been cancelled!)
Well. I got back from a fab day out with a friend yesterday and there’s a message inviting me for catheter ablation this Friday! Just spent an hour cancelling an entire holiday - travel, car hire, hotels, holiday let, stay with friends ….and feeling so heftily disappointed- but it has to be done.
