Atrial Flutter and Atrial Fibrillation

Hi I'm new here. I am in my 70's and have had a recent catheter ablation for AF. My consultant advised me that I also had Atrial Flutter, which was causing me to be very dizzy and having falls. Following the ablation I have been cured of A Flutter but the Atrial Fibrillation remains. However,I feel so much better and no further procedures are anticipated at the moment. My Verapamil medication has been reduced from 250mg daily to 120mg although my other medications remain. Has any one else had similar experiences or have further information about AF. Love to share your experiences

Hi. I have had an abalation last sept. Same as you they. Managed one flutters but not successful. In the other they explained to me. They could go in again but a bigger procedure. Where they go deeper. A four hour operation. And suggested that I stay on the beta blockers. And blood thinners. For life. But. I could change my mind and go for it. It is a worry. But then so is taking tablets. Long term.

Hi Thom I also have A.F. and I had an ablation for A. flutter too. My fibrilation is getting more of a problem as time goes on. I am now considering a pacemaker. How are you doing now?
