Big scare!

Tonight I went to bed as normal. I was snuggling down to go to sleep when I got dizzy really fast then blacked out. My husband brought me to. Then I got two shocks from my defibrillator. So im laying in the ER of a semi-crappy hospital waiting to see if they keep me here or Transport me to a different hospital. Im very worried and super scared. I don't know what is going on this time. I just had an AV Node ablation exactly two weeks ago to the day.

That is scary but you are in the right place and, thankfully, your defibrillator did it's job. Try some slow deep breathing to calm yourself down as being stressed won't help. Easier said than done I know but it will help. I hope all goes well.

Just a question to clarify - can you use a defibrillator for AF? I thought not, but after this post, wanted to check. Thanks anyone who can reply.

Defibrillators are not usually for AF. I got one because I went into cardiac arrest. I have been shocked 33 time. Of all that I think only five of those were for VF which the doctor's conside appropriate. The rest of my shocks were AF driven rates of 217 beats per minute. My Ventricals were able to keep a normal beat but it was too fast so I would get inappropriate shocks. I had an AV node ablation to stop this shocks all together. Now my defibrillator is pacing me and has uncovered an entirely new arrhythmia. This on is all ventricle so it is actual VF. Pacemaker/Defibrillators are placed really based on the severity of your condition.

Personally...........if you can live without it please do. My condition is so bad I asked my husband if we should contact the CIA and have it used as interigation tactic on daesh. I do suffer ptsd from this. But then again my device is set at 25 Jules. That's near max. I only have a 5 jule safety net if it can't recover me.

I send my best wishes, hugs and much love to you with a fast hope of a cure or a fix for you.
