VT diagnosis and cardiac ablation. Would you do it?
I’ve recently been through the full gamut of testing (ECG, Holter, CT scan, stress test). Everything came back normal except for my holter which did show a small run of VT. I had a few ectopic beats during the stress test and I feel those several times a day, which I hate, but have been told repeatedly

Absolutely speechless
I had the consultation with the Dr who will be performing the surgery yesterday and he handed me a leaflet about
endometrial
ablation
, the first paragraph states this is not for people who want kids.

Exercise and AF: from Patients Day 2018
In response to a question from Pam296 in another thread here's a summary of what was said about Exercise and AF last Sunday. As far as exercise is concerned, two things make it more likely that you will get AF: a sedentary lifestyle and excessive endurance exercise. However ,non-excessive exercise

Anti-coagulants and 'lone' AF
I'm 55 and have suffered paroxysmal AF for the past 30 years. Over the last two or three years however my AF has become persistent. Because of this I recently had a catheter ablation and was prescribed apixaban which I had to take for 28 days prior to the procedure and have been advised to keep taking

Are anticoagulants necessary for 'lone' AF?

B complex, folate, iron (getting cofactors in order)
I have FINALLY managed to get a one off iron infusion agreed in the next couple of weeks (I won't go into the aggressive fight I have gone through in order to get this). and have an
endometrial
ablation
coming up in the next couple of months. Both obviously with the aim of addressing iron levels.

Post-ablation (just out)
So if you are going to have a catheter ablation; do not worry! Mine was done under sedation and when I went in, I couldn’t stop my legs from shaking so they gave me something to calm me down (and it worked straight away). There was a bit of discomfort as they put the catheters in but nothing TOO painful

Ablation tomorrow
Hey guys, I’m scheduled to have a RF cardiac ablation tomorrow for PSVT and I thought I’d create a post here. I’ve had the condition since I was in my teens and now 12 years later, I decided to opt for the ablation. The irony is I haven’t had any episodes in the last few months (I’ve had the odd flutter

Heart rate question
Hi all. New to this group. A week ago, I had a catheter ablation because of a high number of ectopic beats, which were making me light headed and exacerbated my breathing during asthma attacks. They haven't yet settled down but I know that this can take some time. Since the ablation, I've found that

Frustrated!
So 5 months after my av node ablation and pacemaker fitted I’d just managed to get fit enough to walk up and down gentle hills feeling really good. Best I had In 10 years. Then 3 weeks ago I slipped in the rain onto some tiles broke my pelvis and chipped my humerus. I am just getting around now slowly

Pacemaker and Mammogram
I had a pacemaker fitted last year and AV node ablation in May. I have just had a reminder that I am due for a mammogram. I mentioned to my GP that I was concerned it or the wires may get damaged, as I’ve had the AV node ablated, I didn’t like the prospect of something going wrong. She didn’t seem to

AV node ablation
Just heard that when you have the node ablation they do not totally destroy the av node but leave it capable of some function. Is this true ?.

AV Node Ablation
Hi, I posted last week about having a pacemaker fitted 5 weeks ago and my lack of progress since then. On Wednesday I attended the PM clinic, seems all the activity I can feel is AF which has been almost constant since having the PM fitted, plus some twitching which those with PM will understand. I then

Ablation One year on
Hi All, I have noticed that after a successful ablation, most “cured” sufferers disappear from the forum because they no longer need the support. This can gives a false impression of the effectiveness of treatment. It is now a year since my ablation and I thought I would come back to give you my full

Catheter Ablation failed?
Hi, I'm 55 and have suffered paroxysmal AF since my mid-twenties. Over the past two or three years, however, the AF has become persistent. Because of this I chose to have a catheter ablation on 4th Oct. As you can see from the attached screen-shot of my AF log, it wasn't long before my heart was back

Has anybody here had a pace and ablate?
Has anybody here had AV node ablation aka 'pace and ablate' (as opposed to 'cateheter' ablation)? If so and you don't mind telling, did it improve your symptoms of afib and to what extent? Has the pacemaker affected your life? Thank you.

General anaesthetic
Due to undergo an
endometrial
ablation
under general anaesthetic. (Hopefully to help address chronic iron deficiency anaemia) Aside from having my b12 jab afterwards as opposed to before....anything else I should be aware of in relation to general anaesthetic and hypothyroidism ?
