Side effects of low dose aspirin
Can anyone tell me how one can tell when "baby" aspirin taken by MPN patients is doing harm? What are the symptoms of that?

Coming off aspirin after AVR
My cardiac consultant has signed me off aspirin and I'm wondering a) if it's typical and b) how best to do it. I had AVR via OHS two years ago for a congenital bicuspid valve and chose the tissue valve. Before the operation the surgeon said I would be on aspirin for life. Now his consultant says my

Feel like I'm not being listened to...
Hi, I was diagnosed with a hiatus hernia fifteen years ago. I was put on Lansoprazole, altered my diet, raised the head of my bed etc (all the things I was advised to do). The hernia was brought under control and I've had no trouble with it for years. Ten weeks ago I had a heart attack and five stents

Two heart attacks
I wonder if anyone can advise me? about 6 weeks ago I had two separate episodes of what felt like crushing cardiac pain at rest over ten days. On each occasion I had been to a gym class in the morning. I assumed wrongly that it was musculoskeletal as I’m 59 and very fit. I did consult my GP and an

Newbie here! 👋
Hi, I had an ‘episode’ a couple of Sundays ago, strange speech, aura etc. One brain scan later and I’ve been told I have had very minor TIA/stroke. They are now pumping me with even more drugs (anti platelets , statins, aspirin , stomach saving meds etc). I’m happy to take everything except statins

pace and a late
I’m having an AV node ablation and dual lead pacemaker implanted. I’m feeling a bit of trepidation. Any information from those of you who’ve had this procedure would be appreciated. Just quickly I’ve had two failed ablations and nine cardioversions in the last two years. I have persistent AF/AFL/AT.

Following LeoPa's “On CLL, diet and possible connections.”
I am also curious about the preferred energy source of CLL cells. Particularly the cholesterol role. If the CLL cells use cholesterol do they use whatever is present, or is there a signaling going on telling/initiating production—that causes cholesterol to rise? Below are a few articles I found on

Just Asking For Advice/ Opinions.
I'm in the process of possibly being investigated for APS. MyGP is seeking advice and guidance from haematology as she seems to think the blood tests needed arent available in primary care. Basically I had early severe pre eclampsia in my first pregnancy in 1991. I was very unwell and sadly my son died

Atrial Fibrilation & Exercise
Hello! I just wanted to share my story here. I'm in my mid-40s and have had paroxysmal Atrial Fibrilation since early 30s. When I get AF, it never goes away on it's own. The only thing I know which gets it back to sinus rhythm is strenuous exercise. Either a run, jog, or brisk hillwalking- something

Just diagnosed with ischaemic heart disease
Hi all. I'm 68, and just been diagnosed with ischaemic heart disease, so have had statin dose doubled (simvastatin 80mg), aspirin dose doubled (75mg), and that's about it. I don't have any obstruction, but do have build up of plaque. Doctor says serious but not critical, which obviously immediately made

Medical Exemption Certificate
Hi, I was diagnosed with ET Jak 2 back in 2019 where I was given a form by the haematology nurses to fill out for the medical exemption, I never requested this, it was brought up the day of diagnosis. At this time i was only told to take aspirin and watch and wait. My renewal is coming up next month

Do I have to take omeprazole with aspirin 75mg
Hello Just been diagnosed with moderate right carotid atherosclerosis. Started statins and prescribed aspirin and omeprazole. Just had 70th birthday. The aspirin is 75mg and enteric coated. I would prefer not to take omeprazole if I dont have to. Isn’t this the point of enteric coated? I dont drink

Aspirin and Lansoprazole
Does everyone who is taking aspirin also take lansoprazole ? I wasn’t prescribed it but asked my GP a few years after I started aspirin and she did prescribe it only after I asked her to. I have had several attempts to take lansoprazole but each time have given it up as it seems to cause me stomach
