Ability to work
Hi all, I am new to this forum. I am 39. I have been diagnosed with ET with JAK2 at the age of 27 and have been on aspirin since. Unfortunately, my platelet count went up to 1100 this year and my hemacritis increased as well. I did blood mass test in the spring and it was confirmed that I have PV.

Heart Rate Variability advice
Does anyone here monitor their HRV levels. Right now I’m suffering really badly from fatigue right now. My HA was two and a half years ago, completely out of the blue whilst mountain biking as a fit 59 year old! My recovery has been good, and for over 18 months I’ve been off all meds apart from a baby

Jump in Haematocritt
My Haemoglobin from back end last year to a month ago was between 116 and 121. Hematocrit was 41%. Haematologist wouldn't give me iron tablets as last time hematocrit jumped uo so fast apparently put me at risk of a stroke. Last blood test a month ago Haemoglobin 132 and Hematocrit 47%. Why it jumped

Aspirin
I take an Aspirin every day to prevent blood clots presumably. However my father died of a brain haemorrhage . So I don’t quite know if there is any preventative medicine for his condition.

Colchicine and Inflammation Revisited
Inflammation is one of the two principle drivers of “The Hallmarks of Cancer” which are the common drivers of progression of cancer from initiation to invasion and spread, to developing resistance to treatments and ultimately to end stage metastasis. Painkillers
Hi, sorry for my second post in as many days! What painkillers are safe to take with prednisolone please? I'm assuming paracetamol but wasn't sure if anything else was OK to take? I suffer with a lot of migraines (after effects of having a blood clot on my brain several years ago) and the best thing

Stent not relieving angina symptoms - so far
Last year I began to get mild burning in my chest and back when walking. So angina was suspected. I was put onto aspirin, statin, bisoprolol and ranolazine and they seemed to greatly reduce the problem. I had a heart scan which detected a significant blockage in my LAD. So

I got a stent

Low-dose Aspirin.
I imagine that the new aspirin study [JAMA (1)] will get a lot of media play, but I will post anyway. A previous study concluded that the only people who benefit from low-dose aspirin are those who have already experienced a cardiovascular event. For everyone else, the risks obliterate any benefit
