Do I have an MPN?
I had a previous presumed pulmonary
embolism
aged 18 (39 now). I do suffer from fatigue but I've had some other stressors of late so unfortunately I have turned to an unhealthy diet and put on a good few stone over the last 18 months - this of course will not help with fatigue.

Rivaroxaban for life?
In 2004 I had a Pulmonary
Embolism
as a result of surgery, 6 months on Warfarin followed. Fast forward to 2017, and a d.v.t., was found in my right calf, completely out of nowhere, no surgery etc. I was put on Rivaroxaban for 3 months, and referred to Haemostasis/thrombosis clinic.

Rivaroxaban or Warfarin?
What are the pros and cons of Warfarin against Xarelto (rivaroxaban)? I’ve been on Xarelto for 3 years and I’ve had skin issues constantly and dizziness which I think are side effects of it? Also, the issue of no antidote to reverse the affects of the drug is always a worry in the back of my head..

Flu jab for over 65's
I had the flu jab yesterday, spent the entire night coughing last night and have been terribly breathless today. I feel exactly as I did when I had pneumonia so I have increased my steroids from 10mg to 40mg today. Not feeling any better so think I will try the Clarithomycin as well tomorrow. I have

In need of a consultant who follows Prof Hughes protocol
Basically I was diagnosed sero negative in 2004 by Prof Hughes and treated with warfarin, later fragmin. Now I have nobody to support me. I don’t want to be on fragmin forever it’s been 3 years now plus I’m getting older too. But I’m afraid to see anybody I’ve had 2 nhs Drs say they’ve not heard of seronegative

Rivaroxaban
I have changed from warfarin to Russians this week. I am feeling really anxious. My heart seems to be beating faster. Has anyone else experienced this?

You Flu Jab.
Is it safe to have the flu jab if you take warfarin, I have read such conflicting reports.

Resveratrol treatment may preserve erectile function after radiotherapy
This paper was published in July in the International Journal of Impotence Research. The full text is available at https://www.nature.com/articles/s41443-018-0042-6 The authors note that about 40% of men who undergo radiation therapy (RT) experience erectile dysfunction. The PROTECT trial reported

Can someone tell me please what I should/shouldn’t be eating whilst on warfarin
Hi everyone I’m new to all this, was diagnosed with a blood clot in my leg last week and I’m currently on Fragmin injections but will be going onto warfarin, I’ve noticed some people talking about not being able to eat certain foods can you please tell me more about this? Thank you

Help. Seeing consultant Tuesday what shall I ask?
He suggested to go on the pill for symptoms but since I have history of pulmonary
embolism
(blood clot in my lungs) and cancer I said I didn't want to.

NEW FLU VACCINE
I am aware that for many years "experts" have said that a flu injection can affect people who have had strokes, and are on Warfarin. Now I understand, that the new flu vaccine for this year for the "over 65's" may react adversely with Warfarin. It apparently contains different enzymes etc. which cause

Inconclusive results for connective tissue disorder
Hello all, I was recently given an initial diagnosis of antiphospholipid syndrome after being hospitalized with a second pulmonary
embolism
since 2015. The first PE was seemingly “unprovoked” but massive, requiring a 4-day hospital stay in an “acute care” unit.

Thank you everyone!
So a little update again! What a fortnight it’s been from having chest pains, to querying emphysema, to spirometry tests to a phone call just now from the consultant I seen privately. He rang to tell me he’s had the ct reviewed by a chest radiologist and there is no emphysema! It’s been a huge kick up

Has anyone ever had a pulmonary embolism and acute chest syndrome before and was able to get back into having an active life?
I started having recent crisis on my legs for the past year and this month was hospitalized for a pulmonary
embolism
which didn’t let me breath almost at all. I was required to be ok oxigen and ended up with acute chest syndrome , pre pneumonia.

Anyone with Post ET/MF & Budd Chiari?
early on but after several DVT's,
embolism
and PE's I was put on Warafin and Allopurinol and basically monitored until my MF symptoms got "bad enough to treat". About 15 years ago I had blood clots form in my liver and 7 years ago more formed as well.
