Covid19 is starting to remind me of CAPS
High D dimer, pulmonary
embolism
, kidney and liver failure with high cytokine Storm. Treatments are similar as well. Plasma, monoclonal antibodies, HCQ and now most recent success stories include anticoagulant therapy specifically with heparin drip. Just an observation.

App will reduce high risk of falls during and after Lockdown.
A free app has been developed at The University of Manchester to help reduce the high risk of falls and physical decline in older people self-isolating during the COVID-19 Lockdown. Pulmonary embolism advice
Two weeks ago I was diagnosed with Pulmonary
Embolism
. I'll be under blood thinners for 6months. Even though my left leg is not completely swollen anymore and it's less painful, I have to say that I'm starting to run out of air again. Seems like I was doing good but now this is happening again.

Not in 24/7 Afib anymore
I have been in constant afib for just over a year following my massive pulmonary
embolism
- caused by the afib most likely. I've been on blood thinner and beta blocker every since. One failed cardioversion.

Being on hydroxychloroquine for SLE makes no difference to severity of Coronavirus infection - Covid-19 Global Rheum Alliance report
This has just been released. https://ard.bmj.com/content/early/2020/05/07/annrheumdis-2020-217690 Sadly no protection for us being on hydroxychloroquine it seems. Also the hospitalisation figures (55 - 57%) were horribly high in this, but I'm reminding myself that these cases are physician reported

Hadassah doctors crack the cause of fatal corona blood clots
The results show that alpha defensin speeds up blood clot formation, which causes pulmonary
embolism
, heart attacks and stroke.

Alvin - update
Diagnosed with a pulmonary
embolism
. Started on Heparin drip. Couple days later, his blood levels dropped to critical. Thinking that his cancer med, Lynparza, was the true cause of his blood level problem, it was stopped on May 13th. He was given several plasma infusions.

Irregular heart beat after pulmonary embolism
Hi everyone, so 6 weeks ago I was diagnosed with a large PE, put on Rivaroxiban but have now changed to Apaxiban, all relatively good up until the last couple of days where I’m now getting an irregular heart beat when rising and standing upright doesn’t last to long but is worrying me, no doubt the heart

Severe Bloating in Abdomen of Injection Site?
Hello All, I am a new member to this forum having just been diagnosed with APS. I have been started on bridging therapy with Lovanox injections (100 mg Enoxaparin Sodium) twice daily plus 7.5 mg Warfarin tablets. On the injections, I am obviously bruising badly, but also developing hard lumps as well

Coronavirus Experience with APS
Note: If you have APS and are on blood thinners, then they do not test for pulmonary
embolism
within the NHS when admitted with coronavirus. I asked why. The response was that the treatment would not change whether you have a PE or not.

Help! I don't know what to do
I live in London, we are in lockdown, I have persistent AF & I'm taking Rivaroxaban 20mg & Bisoprolal 2.50mg for last 2 months. I also take HRT for years which means I have a period. Since yesterday I've had very heavy menstrual bleeding which is getting heavier and I suspect is caused by Rivaroxaban

My Dad is on a ventilator with Covid
He’s been proned whilst ventilated, but complications have included pulmonary
embolism
, following a CT and it seems like a step forward then a step back. He was otherwise fit and well previously, never been hospitalised before. He’s on 50-60% oxygen presently, but this has varied.

Still here.
2019 brought a massive pulmonary
embolism
in May followed by a bleed in the brain from a blood thinning med. Then a second, bigger, bleed in September from a different blood thinner. I'm now half way through 6 cycles of Taxotere chemo. The point is that we all have setbacks.

Pulmonary Embolism
I have only just joined this fabulous forum as my husband has sadly been diagnosed with PSP. Sadly on Tuesday I had to take him to A&E as he had a severe pain in his side. They found that he had blood clots in both lungs plus infection. Is this a complication of PSP or unrelated perhaps?

Hi everyone I’m new to this community. I’m wondering if anyone is having slight breathing problems when having a cold after having PE twice.
I had unprovoked pulmonary
embolism
in September 2016 ,treated with 3 months of heparin injections. In July 2017 I had another one. Now I’m on lifelong Warfarin. My life /lungs never been the same again. When it was diagnosed I had shortness of breath on any physical activity.
