I am a new member to this forum having just been diagnosed with APS. I have been started on bridging therapy with Lovanox injections (100 mg Enoxaparin Sodium) twice daily plus 7.5 mg Warfarin tablets. On the injections, I am obviously bruising badly, but also developing hard lumps as well as warmth in the few areas. Worse yet though, that area of my abdomen is sweling quite badly and very tender. Any advice? Additionally, I have been taking them for 1-week and when blood tested (INR), my value was only 1.2, and needs to be 2-3.

Hi when u give yourself the shot go to softest area of your tummy! If u have any scar tissue please stay away from that! When u give yourself the shot do it slowly very slow! Most likely it’s the Warfin making you bruise! I’m on Lovenox and if I am careful and not in a rush I get very little bruising! I’ve gotten Shot Lumps due to too much scar tissue on my tummy! I hope this helps! After you give yourself the shot don’t press too hard to stop the bleeding! I have ants in my pants and always rushing! Just go slowly and I hope this helps! Please stay safe and Healthy! I’m from NY close to the City and it’s very scary here! Godspeed
Oh forgot to tell you if u get a shot lump, Ive had a few! The first one I got scared and went to hospital I begged them to cut it opened! He said it’s going to hurt I better close the door! I said no worries ( he was afraid I may scream) haha I welcome pain, if I awake without pain I get nervous! Lol... So if u get shot lump pt warm compressed on it to soothe it, till u get to ur doctors and they may give u antibiotic! I cure myself now wen I get them! I don’t get much as I’m careful and inject very slowly that the key! APSNOT SO FAB actually had a whole post dedicated to giving shot cuz it does hurt! It was very informative and helps me not to have ants in my pants! I’m not sure how u do this, but you may want to look up that post maybe about a year or so ago! Good Luck 🍀 & don’t worry you’ll be fine! Godspeed
around Naval area is good about 2 inches from belly button !! squeeze up some skin { fat if you have it } and go into your skin at an angle and go slow and if you get a lump DON"t rub it just leave it or hot cloth like above. Because the shorts are done Subcutaneously, you don't have to go deep just into fat layer of skin -I give these to myself ALL the time for weeks on end and i use to even get B & B at times - wipe with antiseptic wipe at injection site -pinch up some skin -go in at an angle and slow wipe lightly with anti wipe after if a little blood and if a bump just leave it don't rub .slow like Deb said is very important . You will get better at it . Take Care .
