Introducing myself
Hi, I'm new to the forum and thought I'd share a brief summary of how I ended up here. It's hard to say exactly when my symptoms started but in 2019, when I was 62, I found myself so persistently lacking in energy that I decided I should mention it to a doctor. The first doctor I saw did some blood

Do GP’s or Consultants in the UK accept Kardia readings?
Debating on ordering a kardia device to capture a fluttering palpitation feeling rather than waiting another 7 months for an ecg.I wondered if in the UK our GPs or consultants accept the readings…

Omron PM monitor detecting irregular heartbeat and Afib
I've recently discovered the I have grade 1 hypertension and I am waiting a few months to see if lifestyle changes helps lower it. I bought myself an Omron M7 Intelli IT bp monitor and it regularly detects that I have an irregular heart beat. I decided to try the Afib mode and it detected that I may

Query Heart Attack
So I had some serious palpitations back in January, which took me into hospital, no signs of heart attack except slightly elevated blood clotting, so went on thinners for 4 days(only!) Took myself to gp lots of tests and a 24hr ecg and months later being told its just down to low iron and nothing serious

Kardia monitor - if it says ‘Possible AFib is it always AFib?
hi there I’m still fairly new to the whole world of AFib diagnosed in January this year only having had 3 ‘big attacks’ ( cardio version needed due to RVR around 165 for the last 2 events) I’ve been on Flecainide since august 24 th and am getting ‘AFib’ readings on my Kardia almost every 1-3 days

New to this forum, so glad to have found it, I was beginning to despair with my GP who explains nothing to me. Shocked to learn how badly thyroid conditions are treated in UK. Began losing my eyebrows 2 years ago and my diverticulitis began flaring up after years of being stable. Various ultrasound

I have an artificial aortic valve that replaced a bicuspid valve that was calcified in 2020. I had ZERO physical stamina after the operation and it never really came back anywhere near the levels it was at before. I have trouble describing it, but after walking just a block or so I feel like I need

Nightmare with(out) flecainide. Cannot get help from NHS.
This is a follow-up to a post I made earlier this week, trying to figure out whether to take a previously unused flecainide prescription as a PIP. I was diagnosed with lone paroxysmal AF 10+ years ago (I was not quite 50) but it has not been a regular problem -- I didn't need regular meds. Due to the

Cinetidine & Loratadine ect
I’ve noticed I don’t seem to have night sweats or certain other issues (feverish ache sensation) with my CLL when I take Claritin(Loratadine). Is that just me? I did some basic research and found that several drugs in this class including Tagamet are being researched as beneficial for cancer. Anyone

bnp level high, breathlessness and fluid in lungs. What does this mean?
hello everyone. I have posted relatively frequently, most recently because my weight loss surgery was cancelled due to high heart rate(120-130) in persistent af and breathlessness. The gp gave me additional bisoprolol which brought hr down to about 90. Breathlessness has continued, possibly due to

Hi all I’m coming up to 5 weeks after valve replacement, removal of web and thinning of thickened muscle. Had x ray and ecg, 60% healed and function looking good apparently. Which is great news. I’ve been walking each day, I’m up to a couple of miles and on short hills BPM up to 130. May have overdid

Back In AFib
Hi, I have been a member of this forum for years but not been for a while. I had a second ablation years ago and have had no AF at all until last night when I went into AF. I was able to see a doctor this morning who confirmed AF via an ECG, referred me to cardiology and put me back on Sotalol

My anxiety is getting to me!
So since my last post a couple of week ago I thought things were getting a bit better. My meds and therapy were getting on top of my anxiety and I thought the bisoprolol was keeping my heart in check whilst waiting for my CT Angiogram( 29th). I'd been discharged by my Private Cardio following a normal
