Newbie looking for reassurance after heart failure clarification
Recently and quite randomly diagnosed with heart failure, I had an
echocardiogram
on 7th March. Have been waiting for result as I know there can be several causes. The letter came today: “Left and right ventricles normal in size and function. Ejection fraction 57%”. (So far, so good?)

Underactive Thyroid and LVH
I have underactive thyroid and have recently been diagnosed with Borderline LVH following
Echocardiogram
. I know there is a link between high Blood Pressure and LVH, but my BP is normal. So am just thinking whether it could be related to Hypothyroidism. Any thoughts or insight appreciated.

Can you have heart problems with a normal echocardiogram?
I am wondering if you can still have heart problems if an echo is normal? I have had some ecgs, most are normal as well. Is there any other test that are needed to diagnose heart problems? Thanks!

Scared
My
echocardiogram
shows I have 35% function. I have not seen the heart specialist yet. I’m terrified! Feel like the world is ending. Is it as bad as I fear?

Not so simple...
I attended my appointment the following Wednesday and the practice nurse was very prompt to escalate to the GP, who sent me referrals to my local hospital cardiology department to have an
echocardiogram
and an ultrasound of my kidneys.

Another letter for my file
I had another (yearly) follow up
echocardiogram
back on the 11th of February. This was after my phone call with the other cardiologist, who’s letter to me hasn’t arrived yet.

Dad has heart valve disease
Recently my dad has had a stroke he's in atrial fibrillation permanently and has been diagnosed with heart valve disease after a
echocardiogram
Can this be inherited? Do I need to let my doctor know ?

Calcium scoring CT scan .. family related history
Had a comprehensive range of checks over a few separate appointments, starting with bloods (lipids check), ECG,
echocardiogram
and then was referred for a CT scan to check my calcium levels and score. Probably all sounds very familiar to many of you at this point ha !

Confused
I have just been to the Doctors for an appointment with a Nurse Practitioner, he rang me yesterday to give me my results of a
echocardiogram
. It appears I am now in heart failure, when I got there he wasn't there due to being ill.

60% to 80% stenosis in mid and distal LAD
I am now going to have a Stress
Echocardiogram
( looking for ischaemia in the LAD territory before undertaking any further invasive cardiac investigations ). Needless to say I am a bit worried ( I suffer with anxiety ).

Recent LVSD diagnosis following heart attack 2yrs ago
Fast forward approx 28 months later...
echocardiogram
at hospital following some lengthy periods of irregular heartbeat that came and went during November 2021 (ectopic heartbeats I have been told) - now told my LVEF is 40% and that I have moderate LVSD.
