Stopping isosorbide mononitrate
Hello
Your heart might be doing so well because of the medication you are taking and I would not stop anything till you have spoken with your Doctor
Keep phoning the surgery , tell the receptionist that you need to speak to the Doctor about you medication
Let us know how you get on x
Thanks. But I can't get through to anyone I was no 20 in queue,I have sent a message through klink online but that takes about 10 days for a reply, with the results from cardiology saying my heart is ok,I stopped clopidogrel on the 8th feb day after my tests,i have thought all along that it's my hiatus hernia, its same symptoms as anjina.
Hello
I know it can be such a pain getting through to the Doctors but what I do is especially on a cold day like today , I ut the phone on loud speaker and get on with what I am doing till I hear them answer
I personally would stick in there and wait till you get to the top of the que or phone111 or your Consultants Secretary and get the right advice if it is safe to stop them x
Hi there, some 8 years ago when I was diagnosed with angina I was put on 30mg of Isosorbide Mononitrate, I had a heart attack in June last year and the dose was increased to 60mg a day.Three months later at a review with the cardiologist he told me to stop taking it, which I did and withing 36 hours I felt dreadful....that bad I thought I was suffering from another heart attack.
I spoke to my GP who told me to start taking it again, 60mg a day for a week, then 30 mg a day for a week and then 30 mg every other day for a week...I followed his guidance and had no issues.
I'm not sure if its a medication you need "weaning" off or if it was my brain playing games with me.
Thanks, I'm only on 25mg have to see what gp says.
As has already been said the probable reason for a good result is the medications. If you’re feeling well enjoy it and get a future date appointment with the doc. It doesn’t matter when that is.
I had mine reduced from 60 to 30 and within a few days my angina was awful. It's the one med I definitely won't be trying to reduce again!
