Doxy

I had had a cough since Christmas and was given several short courses of doxy, which would work and when I stopped chest infection would come back. When I was eventually diagnosed I was given a 2 wk course of doxy but they did not work.

Sent home with two weeks of doxy and metro tablets from hospital discharge, third time in 18 months, on surgery list for pelvic pain, endometrial cyst, abscess.

Triple therapy adding Doxy to mix? Or something else? Must say I did not think I would be considering this till end of year.

Ask for more doxy? Culture the sputum? Try to get the biologic treatment? Thanks for listening.

I had a sputum sample 2 weeks ago and all it came back with was oral thrush and thats because I had 2 lots of Doxy and Steroids in May. Many thanks in advance :o)

Two weeks ago I started doxy followed by azithro & 10 days of steroids. Some mild SOB on incline walking in the last month. Normally I clear my mucus with sea swimming (fit & active 40 yr old M). A week ago I did an extra long sea session, to clear as much as I could.

At the hospital tried various antibiotics augmentin, zocyn, doxy, levoquin, vancomycin, etc. Sometimes it is like that...... when you have to throw something up on the board and hope it sticks. I had previously been vaccinated with Prevnar 13 in 11/19 and Pneumovax 23 in 11/20.

I’m due to have the usual tests come the New Year; bloods, sputum, urine and t’other end following a particularly persistent chest infection which has gone on since beginning of Nov. 2 lots of Doxy, one Amoxicillin and 2 lots of Pred later, I’m finally turning the corner in terms of actually getting

I started reading about the consequences of CDK12 and was concerned that since I have this mutation doxy was not a treatment of choice. After giving time for the PSA to settle I had a test which showed that it doubled in close to 3 months.

I have noticed this recently during the hot spell even though my time in the sun is limited and I am not taking Doxy.

I was issued Doxy that has helped and I'm due for a CT Scan in a couple of weeks. I was pondering why it suddenly flared up and my wife suggested my CPAP machine. I thought I was pretty good at keeping the reservoir, hose and mask free from mould.

I am on the fourth day of Doxycycline after always having Amoxycillin and have found that after the first (double) dose I immediately vomited all the water back but kept the capsules down. Although I have not done it again I have felt sick immediately after taking the dose and find that this is apparently

Questions, now that doxy is done (for now) do I still need the XGEVA or should I not worry about it? I am having some inflammation and recession of some of my gums in a couple of teeth. There is very minor pain and at least one tooth in the area seems a little loose.

Waiting on sputum culture results back on 200mg of doxy and prednisone, any advice from any lungies out there. Would appreciate many thanks in advance😙

Started her Co-amoxiclav but 8 days on no improvement so saw GP and he tried Doxy and said to start steroids too. 3 days later, even worse, 'fighting' to breath and even worse at night when lying down with oxygen levels dropping to mid to high 80s but usually low to mid 90s.

Hello everyone; Have bronchiectasis and had 13 of 15 Doxy rescue pack. Been nebulising regularly and staying indoors. And doing respiratory exercises. Except for pain in lower right lung, I don't feel that unwell, although can't sleep much, but certainly not well enough to go out in the cold.

do many of you just sometimes take the steroid meds and nit the antibiotics? more wheezy and s.o.breath but dont seem to have an infection. Not quite sure if just steroids would be better for this? any imput welcome. also take daily fostair 200/6 for copd. many thanks

The worst thing was that when they kept putting me back on the one you said (I can’t spell it🤣) that Doxy thang. I started to notice I was tingling in my fingers. Weird sensation but I can only put it down to that.

I tried Trimethoprim, and I would get the exact same thing; burning and tingling in my legs and arms (many years ago, I took both of Trim and Doxy without any problem whatsoever. Now I can tolerate them). The B12 at 160 mcg / day got me to 707 ng/L by December 23rd 2022.
