Ureplasma infection

Hi all

I have recently been diagnosed with ureplasma through fertilysis testing. I was wondering what antibiotics others used that were successful treating ureplasma infection??

My doctor was going to put me on Doxycycline twice a day for 4 days... but I have asked to be on this for 7 days after researching the standard treatment online. However I have since seen cases where others had doxy treatment for 14 days??

I will also go on Azithromycin and asked for my partner to be treated too. Please can others share their experiences and what treatment worked for them

Thanks

Hello! I was on doxycycline for 10 days. It's also important that your partner does the same treatment at the same time as you - that's what my doctor said. Hope this helps!

Thanks for sharing. I'm currently trying to get the same antibiotics for my partner too... everything is always such a battle!

I'm so confused... don't know why there is such variation to how long people are on antibotics for? Some a week, some 10 days, some 14.. doesn't make sense to me and makes me wonder how long I should be prescribed antibiotics for?! x

I really feel for you! I'm with a clinic abroad in Poland, so from what I gathered Poland recommends 10 days treatment while the UK has 7 days as a standard. I think each country has a slight difference in recommendation depending on research they deem as liable. I've done a test a week after finishing my treatment and it was definitely gone, so 10 days seem to have worked in my case. You will have to retest after a week of finishing the course of treatment, do hopefully it will be all clear! Best of luck x

Ps. Make sure to tak a large doe of probiotics 30 min after taking the antibiotics, so you don't end up with a yeast infection or stomach problems! Thats also my doctors recommendation.
