Gout
Evidently any form of dopamine, including mucuna beans, causes an increase in uric acid in persons who are susceptible to gout. Has anyone experienced this problem?

If I can get well, why can't others.
After being totally disabled with fibromyalgia, I have been out of pain and off meds for 13 years. I didn't happen over night, but it did happen. I have been studying and working the past 13 years to help others in their recoveries. I want people to get well. When I regained my health, I

Beating Down Chemo's Ill Effects
Are you feeling like you don’t know what to do first … throw up, fall over from sheer exhaustion, or pinch yourself to make sure the hands and feet you can’t feel are still there? I know, not funny. Unfortunately, chemo isn’t as discriminatory as we’d like; the drugs kill the good cells but are rough

Hello again
Some time ago I wrote to ask if anyone else had had a terrible skin allergy when using the patches. You may remember I told you that the whole of my upper body including arms and top of legs were covered in sores and blisters. My doctor was quite shocked when she first saw it and said I was obviously

How to Increase Dopamine Naturally ?
I don't know if we could increase our dopamine level naturally but reading below will not harm, except in diet section, I wouldn't recommend it for those having gout, which I do :( Dopamine is a brain neurotransmitter that is responsible for mood and attentiveness. Imbalanced dopamine levels have

Dopamine Agonists
If we accept in most cases RLS is related to the shortage of dopamine as a neurotransmitter in brain and therefore dopamine agonists are prescribed, then why they work fine in the beginning and then they worsen the symptoms of RLS in considerable number of cases ?!! :(

“To puff or not to puff ?”
The fact that smoking causes lung and heart disease isn't exactly news, and only tobacco industry executives would express (feigned) shock at being told. But, excuse the pun, cigarettes can lead to a whole slew of problems involving every system of your tar-filled body, especially if your immune system

Duo Dopamine pump
I went to a Brain Fair yesterday where they had top neurologists discussing Parkinsons. They talked about a Duo Dopamine pump which pumps a continuous flow of dopamine into the small intestine. It has been used in Europe since 2004 but is expected to be approved for the US in the next 1-2 years. The

Nicotine Addiction ! Interesting article on why it is hard to stop AND why its worth it .
Nicotine tricks your brain by stimulating the reward pathways with a shot of dopamine, the hormone that tells us that things like food and sex are pleasurable. It also increases activity in the cholinergic pathways of the brain. These pathways are concentrated in the brain stem and are believed to be

Differences between RLS & Peripheral Neuropathy
If I am right RLS is associated with deficiency of neurotransmitter( dopamine ) in the brain, but PN is peripheral nerve damaged. It looks like those with RSL may have a greater hope to achieve their nerve health, but how could we make sure we are dealing with which since the symptoms are not much
