does anybody inject themselves with a dopamine agonist and if so how do you get on
yes I inject apokyn.it is injected with a ultra-fine pen needle. Apokyn has given me my life back .I take .04 up to 5 times a day you can use it . I generally use it myself 2-3 times a day .Apokyn is prescribed by my neurologist, a nurse from Apokyn came to the Doctors office and did the demonstration and teaches you how to prime the pen and inject the Apokyn ,it is very simple and does not hurt . I had difficlty walking and freezing and the Apokyn gets me moving in 10-15 minutes after injecting.
What were you on prior before taking this?
I was taking 25/100 sinment i take 1/2 pill 5am 7am 9am 11am 1pm 3pm 5pm and 7pm and 6mg. neupro patch 1patch lasts 24hours i take the siniement crazy schedule but if i take a whole sinement i get very bad dyskensia I wish you the best!

I have been taking Apokyn injections for almost 6 months now. I have periods of freezing, weakness, numbness and tingling in my left leg and arm. When this happens, I give myself an injection. Within 15 minutes I have my body back and it stays in my system 1 to 1 1/2 hours at max. It is a rescue drug not to be used in place of your PD meds. I use it only when my meds wear off or I need to jump start my day. My neurologist does not want me to inject more than 3 times daily. Some days, I inject 3 times, other days once or twice. On a good day, I don't need the Apokyn. I did not think I could give myself an injection; but you will be surprised what you can do when you have to! It isn't that bad. The needles are very small. The Apokyn has helped me tremendously. My only other choice was DBS....this was the lesser of the 2 evils, and the great thing is that it works! My dosage has recently increased from 2.0 to 3.0.
Does anyone else have eyelid tremors? And what do you do to stop them?
What symptoms do you get if you take Parkinson's medication late or miss a dose.
How do you know when to go to emergency when PD symptoms are beyond erratic?
