Why have I never known of RLS-UK before now?
Well...having had RLS and Period Limb Movement diagnosed in 2000 (following a chance conversation with a friend/colleague who worked in the sleep study dept of a large teaching hospital) although I certainly had symptoms from childhood, I have had UK hospital/ Consultant input since 2000 and from approx

Finally off Mirapex
Finally off the dreaded Dopamine Agonist, Mirapex and I’m suffering like crazy! I don’t even know how much Kratom I’ve taken tonight! I have my ice packs on and they’re not helping. I might as well bite the bullet while I’m sick and suffer through it. I think someone told me about 2 weeks of sheer hell

Boswellia, supplements
About 2 months ago I developed a swollen finger, and generalised pain in my wrists knees and ankles. I also had stiff hands in the morning, which I initially thought was Parkinson's related. Googling in the usual way brought me to the conclusion that I might be suffering from an inflammatory arthritis

New Hope
It looks like we have something positive. "A new therapy that appears to stop Parkinson’s disease “in its tracks” will begin phase-one clinical trials in humans next year. Question for nerds
I recently read an article in the NY Times about the science of placebo. (No, this is not an attempt to treat RLS with a placebo.) There is some very interesting research being done these days but my interest is not in the placebo effect, it is in an enzyme called COMT that has a role to play in the

Why I want to research active microbiome therapies for Parkinsons
Why I think the microbiome is key (Stick with it – links to poo coming up…) Having been diagnosed with PD, and offered regular Sinemet therapy, I resolved to look for alternatives and hope for a cure. Dopamine – whilst central to PD and effectively the definition of the disease, appears to be only part

Help! How do you time your eating with taking Sinemet?
Hi folks, this is willason, this is my second post. Thanks to everyone who communicated with me on my first post. I've been having so many problems the past few weeks managing my PD. I'm sure many of you can relate. One of my problems is managing when I eat in relation to when I take my Sinemet.

Is it possible to upload a file to this site?
Does anyone know if you can upload a file to this site? I thought I would upload the DNA analysis , urine analysis and SIBO files that we have had done on my husband for anyone interested in seeing the kinds of information you get from these tests but I am not sure if it is possible. It would be quite

Ropinirole for long airplane flights?

Levetiracetam (Keppra) to help in some cases of RLS.
Tim61, I posted recently about withdrawing from Pramipexole, which I’m doing at the moment, not very nice. My GP eventually discovered I was suffering with myoclonic jerks, not restless leg syndrome. I saw him yesterday’ & he has agreed to try keppra ( levetiracetam) 250mg at night. I took the first

Anyone else had insomnia on Ropinirole? What do I try next?!
Hello all I have severe PLMS and have had an iron infusion (ferritin level remains good five months later), pregabalin 100mg (couldn't cope with the side effects) and ropinirole 1mg. I barely slept for the month I was on ropinirole and, from what I can find here and on the net generally, this isn't
