My husband has passed.
On Wednesday 17th April Ronnie suffered a brain hemorrhage in the late afternoon at home. He died in hospital in the early hours of Thursday 18th. He had just turned 71. He was diagnosed in January 2020. I believe that Radium 223 precipitated his death. I have written before here on his experiences

GI issues post transplant
I am now 7 months post kidney transplant. I was fortunate to never be on dialysis and had a living donor. Things are going just fine with good lab work and I feel great. I am back doing most of what I did prior to transplant. Now the reason for my question is that the only thing I have had issues

My consultant has suggested I try Valproate or Levetiracetam for my RLS/PLMD. Has anybody tried either of these and had any success or otherwise?

Can coughing irritate a new stent & how bad should chest pain be before I use GTN?
Hello, I've got couple of questions - I know pain is subjective but thought I'd ask anyway! It's about 6wks since my HA & stent. The first few weeks after leaving hospital were tricky, with a few random severe pain events that had me whisked into hospital, despite my protestations, and are now

Amlodipine for angina
My husband, who is nearly 72, had a heart attack in April last year caused by high cholesterol. He had a stent fitted, told that his heart had no damage and was put on Bisoprolol 2.5mg twice a day, ramipril 2.5mg twice a day (now changed to Losartan 50mg once a day), ticagrelor for a year and aspirin

Chemo Update March 27, 2024
I was treated with 6 rounds of docetaxel in 2017/2018 when I was HSPC and I responded exceptionally well. I have been CRPC since 2022 and have tried abiraterone and Radium 223 (Xofigo). I just completed 7 rounds of docetaxel again and PSA went from 105 to 3.1 after 4 rounds then started doubling. Now

Blood sodium levels
Stage 3b My last labs over the past year have had a decrease in my blood sodium levels. Last test was 131. Nephrologist said I need to start eating more protein as that helps to keep sodium in your bloodstream instead of getting out in your body tissue. I don’t have any edema and take a diuretic. Not

Does anyone have any tips on how to avoid embarrassing accidents on planes? Is it okay to use Imodium proactively?

Unexplained severe pains after heart attack & stent 4 wks ago
Hi, Looking for others that may have the same pain as I do! I'm a 48yr old female that had escalating symptoms (exhaustion, light headedness, hypertension) for 6 months before my heart attack. I had one stent fitted. My heart attack presented strangely apparently - I had most of the pain in my left

Radium-223 and [177Lu]Lu-PSMA
Has anyone here from Canada had experience with either of the two PSMA treatments. I was all excited about this until I looked into it a bit more and the results seem to be very mixed not to mention the cost of upwards of $27K per treatment (5 or 6 treatments seems to be typical). I have completed 8

Nanocarriers study shows antibodies against polyethylene glycol in 83% of the German population
"For us, polyethylene glycol is interesting for coating nano-sized drug carriers with it," says Svenja Morsbach, group leader in Katharina Landfester's department at the MPI for Polymer Research. In this way, the researchers achieve a longer circulation time for the drug capsules, which are only nanometers

At the crossroads (again)
My profile is up to date, but, briefly, have failed chemo, ADT (am castrate resistant), failed Keytruda and now Pluvicto. Scans yest. & today show progression along with PSA rise. All my mets are in bone. So, my SOC choices are cabazataxel or radium 223. Other options are trial, which are a crapshoot
