Invited for my unmentionable this week, feeling unexpectedly anxious, advice needed!

I'm not anti-V but I unexpectedly feel anxious about getting my boo-ster this week after my heart attack & stent last month.

I'm 48, female & have a healthy, active lifestyle so for me, my heart attack came out of nowhere. Now I'm on 7 drugs every day, with a blooming GTN spray I'm having to use a couple of times a week, under investigations for MVD.

I'm not used to feeling this vulnerable and I think that's all this is, reaching out on here for some encouragement to get me to the health centre!

Hope this doesn't sound too mad!

Hello :-)

No you are not mad at all and nothing you say sounds like it either

For some reason I have had everyone up till now but I know I will be invited for this one and I really am not sure if I want another one something is niggling me about it and I do not know if to accept it or not

I believe here in the UK at least you either have to be 65 or over or have a health problem such as heart so I keep thinking it must be safe shouldn't it or why if you are under 65 with a heart issue are they offering it you ?

It is a personal choice obviously regarding this and if you feel this is the right thing for you and many do then go along and get it done I know so many have this time and they have been fine and no reason why you won't be :-)

Let us know how you get on :-) x

Hi Cora. Not mad at all. Or at least, no madder than the rest of us! I'm 62, had my flu jag last Saturday, and will no doubt be invited for the other one soon. Although I did have one in the spring which I may not have been entitled to - my 94yo mum's NHS texts were sent to me, and they never address texts, so it wasn't until after I'd had it that I realised it may have been intended for mum! I've had about 6 of them now, and to be honest, I'm getting fed up, especially as I've had bad reactions to some of them (reported on yellow card), but I'll probably carry on with them as getting the Voldemort could cause huge problems.

Just remember, it's your choice, and you shouldn't feel guilty about whatever decision you make xx

Cora_bear, you are right to be concerned. I know someone who never went to see their GP, had a certain appointment and ended up with almost weekly visits to GP or A&E due to suddenly suffering from low platelets. There are well now, but it took the best part of a year to recover. You have probably heard of Thalidomide. People have told me this cannot happen again but for what you are concerned about, granting emergency licence to "combat" something with a 99% survival rate has meant that the clinical trials have involved probably half the population with no recompense or compensation. Even Chris Whitty in a reluctantly disclosed email said there was no need to buy pass proper clinical trials. Please research this yourself but my personal advice to you (and indeed to everyone) is not to touch this thing with a bargepole. There is too much out there reporting on the effects, including official Government report which showed a depressed immune system in participants, for this to be questioned. Whatever you decide though, I wish you well.

I've been invited for one, and I'll definitely be saying yes. I had no ill effects on the previous three and I have absolutely no concerns about this one.

I'll be saying yes both for myself and also for all the other people that I might otherwise infect.

Anyone hesitating might consider that you're not just doing this for yourself, you're also doing it for everyone else. I'm doing it for you, please reciprocate and do it for me!

Good luck!

You are not mad. It is a personal choice. But iam fed up with not being told the truth. I personally think that more research needs to be undertaken. Yes something had to be done back at the start, but hind sight is a wonderful thing. I will be having the flu jab as they are still produced the old fashioned way. But I don't know about the other jabs the one that carnt be mentioned. You have every right to feel scared. Concerned. But this is where we need help and advice. But it is us who have to live with our bodies. No one else. I know this does not help. But iam the same as you in how you feel. Do you stick or twist. Take care

Given that my issues reared their head just after no.4 I'll be exercising my choice and declining any invitation. Oddly enough so will my other half, she never had no.4 due to other reasons (Shingles).

It is awful that we have lost trust. To this day I carnt prove anything but weird thing occurred during 2021. And during that year had three vaccines. Why three? When one, once a year should have been enough. I don't know what happened but my blood pressure was high, we can never go back but iam now on a journey I do not want. I wish the truth would come out.

Same here pal , 2 weeks after . I wont be bothering again after the things that have come since , dr john Campbell on YouTube is a good watch with factual statistics. Take care

The information provided by John Campbell PhD in Philosophy is not ' factual' He is a former nurse lecturer rather than a statistician.

Bluelobby profile image
Bluelobby in reply toMilkfairy

Indeed he is but does that make him incapable of providing fact data that seems to be now more and more coming to head on a daily basis ? Anyone is free to watch as they are free to type as they are free to speak as they are free to make their own minds up

Same here after my myocarditis incident 3 days after my 4th

roughquest profile image
roughquest in reply toCatkin-blake

Mine was after my first, but because of lockdown it’s took over a year to get to “myocarditis” diagnosis. Still broken and the reason I’m now assigned to a heart failure clinic.

after 3 years and 3 vaccs we finally had the virus this July but thought it wasn't too bad considering, a milder variant luckily

Mine was a week after a retinal TIA and then recently emergency admissions with heart issues leading to the shock of diagnosis, Been feeling rough since poss from anxiety mixed with change to a different betablocker, not sure I'm prepared to risk the vacc this time but will have the flu one

Sorry to hear about your daughter. I totally agree, not enough research was done. It was all panic. I think that all medication needs to be thoroughly tested on all groups within our society. Everyone is made differently and can be effected differently. One thing that needs to be learnt is we cannot afford to rush things through. I had two AZ unmentionable and the third was py unmentionable. Why the change?

Why this is what happened to me after my 4th. It is everyone’s own decision at the end of the day to have or not to have

the real world trails have shown it to be safe and effective- I feel so lucky to be invited (I only had a stent) - it’s just like the flu one really (one day it’ll be within it!) .

The ‘trouble’ with these threads is only those ‘against’ tend to respond so you get a skewed response.

You would not be invited if it wasn’t a benefit - both for society but also for you (if it was just society they’d get everyone). Of course there are very very few people with adverse reactions or coincidental problems- but they are in the very very minority- real time strains have proven that!

Good luck and do what you think- stay safe. We all hope a worse variant doesn’t come this way!

The causes of access deaths are complex. However it is perhaps untrue to suggest that access deaths are due to vacc****.

Hi Cora_bear I sense your vulnerability and wanted to say. What ever you decide to do is neither right nor wrong. It just is!I personally declined to take the stuff and was berated by family and friends. I made an informed decision and decided not to. I concluded I'd had measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox, whooping cough and scarlet fever.

I'm diabetic in the last 10 months I've had a stroke and will be having bypass surgery in the coming weeks. I thought I'd dodged the bullet but after a visit to A&E this Easter I presented positive. I was rehydrated and sent packing I survived the unpleasant symptoms.

At the moment I am feeling extremely exposed and vulnerable with all that is going on, however I still stand strong in my choices.

Sending you big hugs and lots of support.

O Cora bear !!! If you are still out there !!

Not hiding!

What a minefield this forum can turn into. To get back to you!!!!

You need reassurance !! Of course you are scared and wobbly. Any one young ( many much younger!) who has heart problrms suddenly is terrified and that fear takes a long time to go away. ( I’ve been in your situation ) It takes guts to take control of fears but it can be done if you trust someone !!!! Be it family, doctor pr best of all a friend!! Talk , cry , share your feelings and fears face to face . You will feel so much better. Listening to other people’s bad experiences does not help. Googling does not help!! You need calm and you know full well we are all unique and have very different body and mental reactions to drugs and illness. But, life is for living take it and what is on offer. You will be fine!!!

May, All huge confidence come to you!!

That »chappychap » sounds sensible!

Dear Cora_bear,Further to what Lulubean said, I would add: go with your heart. Our body knows best. As has been repeated earlier, it is a personal choice. So see listen to your body if the response is anxiety, don't go there. If it is ease, go for it. No amount of reasoning can take one over what instinctively we know.

You need peace to deal with where you are now.

Best wishes

I'm a 47 year old, fit runner finding herself with a heart problem out of the blue too. I'm also nervous but my feeling is my risk of being ill from getting it are higher tgan from preventing it... it's all a numbers game i guess. Thinking of you.
