Enlarged Liver
Any advice on whether it's possible to have an enlarged, fatty liver but LFT results to be normal? The main thing that is worrying me is the fact the liver is enlarged which to me means there is some kind of problem going on!!!? If my results come back normal should I still insist on a referral to see

High GGT (309), normal ultrasound and fibroscan (3.2kPa), other liver functions normal. Any ideas?
Hi, this is my first post here. I am 38 and had a general health check last november, which found high GGT function. I was referred to gastroenterologist, who ordered ultrasound, fibroscan, and more blood tests. Ultrasound and fibroscan were normal. Still haven't received results of blood tests. I

Spironolactone and Gynaecomastia in men.
Are there any male contributors that have taken the potassium sparing diuretic Spironolactone for their liver disease and as a consequence suffered as a side effect very sore as well as developing breasts or as is often described 'male boobs' ? I have been taking this medication for several months and

Will muscle & joint pain disappear, and to what degree will I feel better after I quit taking Crestor after six years of 10 mg. daily?
In 2008, I was diagnosed with idiopathic
dilated
cardiomyopathy
with an ejection fraction of 17%. I had been taking Crestor for about a year at that time. The Heart Failure Clinic (I was a patient there for the next 3 1/2 years) put me on 5 or 6 heart medications to treat my condition.

Hi, Recently I got diagnosed with fatty liver disease. However I do not drink alcohol, and I am most certainly not over weight.
Doctors and specialist have done test and everything yet still can't work out how this has happened.. Can someone advise me with some options.

To check if all my ascites has gone after they drained most of it in April - over 10 litres. Since then I have stopped drinking and followed a low salt diet meticulously. The gastr doc says if I am clear of fluid, I can stop taking the spiro. My stomach is flat, I feel okish...really hope I get a good

Confused over terminology and advice on diagnosis of ALD
Hi, I recently had a Fibroscan, blood test and consultation privately as a result of my chronic alcohol issue as my GP has not been helpful in supporting or diagnosing as a result of my symptoms even though I present with stigmata of alcohol abuse of Dupuytren's contracture, spider naevi and palmar

Rituximab in Thyroid Associated Orbitopathy (early report)
Very early report on use of rituximab in Thyroid Associated Orbitopathy (also known as Graves' Eye Disease, and various other names). That this approach appears to work is itself of interest. Also, while not wanting to be negative, it might be some time before this approach gets out of Italy and beyond

Ive hereditary polycystic liver disease and my liver function tests are way outside the norm. I've stopped drinking alcohol and the last test was better, but I'd hate to think that I can't drink again, even just occasionally ie holidays, birthdays, etc. does anyone have any experience to share and/or

It seems ironic that I haver liver disease and never drink alcohol .
I've got fatty liver, and though I've always been teetotaller all my life my weight has mostly been obese. When I diet I've lost 6 stone then it goes back over the years. I'm eating as healthy as I can nowadays, as when I get to a certain point in weight the itching stops on my arms! I'm wondering that

Hepatic encephalopathy with Liver Disease
The doctor has referred me to a Neurologist (appointment Early May) based upon symptoms I am having, and some incoherent blood results that contradict each other, and wants to rule it out or in. I already been diagnosed with Perhiperal Nueropathy, which I think is a related condition/factor. I have Spider
