Supplement breakthrough but now what??

Hi everyone. Fairly new to the site. I have had RLS for about 12 years now. It has been well controlled through Mirapex/Ropinirole but a couple of months ago it seemed to not be working as well. Started feeling symptoms in my arms and onset was earlier in the day. Even would wake up some days with symptoms which has never happened. After reading many posts on here, I'm assuming I was augmenting on the Ropinirole. I am on 4mg of Ropiniorle XL currently. After reading several posts regarding Potassium and Magnesium supplements, I decided to give them a try. Within 2 days I felt tremendous relief of the symptoms. I have been taking 700mg of Potassium, topical Magnesium of about 120mg and vitamin D each day. My question is will I still experience the hellish withdrawals that I read about if I come off of the Ropinirole at this point? Wondering if anyone else has been in my situation where symptoms seem to be under control with supplements but wanting to come off of dopamine agent? Thanks all for your posts! They have been so helpful to me!!

If you decide to come off the Rop, you need to do so as slowly and gently as possible. 10% per week,if that is practical. Talk to your Dr.

You will need extra drugs to help with the final stages. Some people have minimal problems, others ,not so.

Good luck and well done for having got this far.

Madlegs is right.; You MUST mean off of a dopamine med VERY slowly, and potassium and magnesium are not going to help with withdrawal off your very high dose of Ropinerole. Dopamine withdrawal is NOT easy. Put "Allaying Augmentation" into the search box. It is the single best article by the ultimate RLS specialist, Dr. Buchfuhrer who is in the US. It will be a huge help to you. You can also find it on the website for Sleep Review Magazine.
