Dopamine Agonists -Dr Winkelman Article in Sleep Review.
Great article in Sleep Review by Dr Winkelman, one of the world's top RLS experts. Increasing the dose is 'lighting the fuel' and those of us that have experienced the severe, unbearable RLS due to augmentation will recognise this! He confirms that dopamine agonists ( Ropinirole,Pramipexole

Getting the correct treatment
My night-time RLS has worsened over the last few years causing me to get medical advice 2 months ago. I was prescribed ropinerole and take 0.5mg. Over the last week or so I've noticed a slight unpleasant sensation in the legs during the day and am going to discuss this with the GP. She is calling me

Switching from three meds to one (Pregabalin, clonazepam, and ropinerole) - I hope! I hate ropinerole! I need help.
I’ve been struggling to manage my restless legs. Was on 300 mg Pregabalin for fibromyalgia and 1 mg clonazepam for RLS for about 6 years and then I decided to try to come off of all prescription meds. I didn’t know at the time that Pregabalin was helping with my RLS. I wasn’t suffering during that time

Reference Please: over 70% of our dopamine is produced in our gut and transported to the brain via the vagus nerve?
I read on a facebook page, "over 70% of our dopamine is produced in our gut and transported to the brain via the vagus nerve"? Does this mean all dopamine in the gut makes it to the vagus nerve--Even what is produced when bacteria consume our meds. This would make a major difference in my https://healthunlocked.com

New and current hope for Parkinson's Disease
Sorry, we didn't find She at first was told she had PD and we went through all the usual emotional grief associated. Then she was told not PD but a "Pitched nerve" and was given a block. Then she continued having dystonia to left leg. Was told to follow up with a movement specialist for possible botox

Frightening, weird symptoms
Hi Guys... need to talk today. Don't know if anyone else has had strange body sensations, mainly to do with sudden shivering, and something like restless legs including lower body. I had restless legs years ago, but it stopped... but this is different. My mood is very low and I was going to ask the

Association of cholesterol level with dopamine loss and motor deficits in Parkinson's disease: A cross-sectional study
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36209467/ TC - total cholesterol
Conclusions: This study suggests that TC levels affect parkinsonian motor symptoms, especially in low cholesterol status, while the severity of axial motor symptoms is negatively associated with TC levels only in statin users.

What to do about Adderall Toxicity, i.e. it messes with your endocrine system. Withdrawal, long term side effects.
Anyone else have to deal with Adderall Toxicity? Adderall messing with your endocrine system? Not overdosing or to that extreme. But long term use where your body is dependent on the medication and there are long term side effects. i.e. if you crash and out if you stop taking adderall, or have found

Mucuna Pruriens
I would appreciate some advice on the following. I recently started giving Mucuna Pruriens to my wife hoping to start reducing her usual dopamine medication and replace this with the natural L-Dopa that Mucuna has as this should have far less side effects. However, after the third day, I stopped

Existential RLS crisis
We are gettimg very good here about digging into the minutae of cause and effect when it comes to figuring out an individual's case of RLS. I can do this. I can't do that. I can take this, but I can't take that. This is very helpful in managing the day to day rinse and repeat process that provides

Ketamine?
Levodopa, a standard Parkinson’s therapy, is a precursor molecule that is converted to dopamine in the brain. It is well-known for controlling Parkinson’s disease symptoms such as rigidity and slowness of movement. However, prolonged use of levodopa may result in spontaneous involuntary movements

Augmentation with DAs in RLS but what about Parkinson's - A question I've pondered...
Hi all RLS sufferers who like to ponder.... Auldreekie18's post raises an interesting question which I have pondered lately. If one suffers from RLS and has taken dopamine agonists in the past with augmentation setting in- then develop Parkinson's, I wonder what the treatment for Parkinson's will be
