Thanks for all the comments in my previous post. I'm speaking to the doctor in the UK on Friday.
Gabapentin or Pregablin is suggested by many of you which I now know are pain killers.
I wouldn't say I'm in pain just discomfort that stops me sleeping. Is it still right to ask for these. In the UK dopamine antagonists are still a primary treatment.
Thanks in advance.

Personally I'd ask to try Gabapentin. My brief experience on Ropinirole wasn't good and as you've picked up, some negatively about the use of DAs The minimum dose seems to be helping me.
I don't know why they prescribe 300 mg at 100mg 3 times during the day. You need it all in the evening?
I take Gabapentin 300 mg but I’m older so small doses are best. I take a pill mid day and two at bedtime. I also take .25 ropinirole at bedtime, which is so small it is unlikely to cause augmentation. This combination of Gabapentin and small ropinirole let’s me sleep for 8 hours. I have discomfort during the day which I manage with exercise and activities that help distract me.
I may need to do that but more Gabapentin makes me a bit unsteady and I’m afraid it will cause me to fall. I’m 83 and still very active with golf and pickle ball so I’m trying to get by without taking meds
