Low carb and Keto diets
I am currently reading 'Eat rich Live Long' by Cummins and Gerber MD. It is a fascinating book that borders on being a full blown medical textbook in that it provides the most lucid explanation I have seen about the devastating effects of eating sugar on the human body, what it does to the bodies systems

Diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 25 weeks
Any ladies have experience with this. I was diagnosed yesterday after a week of feeling really shitty. I have the clinic on Monday but I’ve been googling (stupidly) and I’m worried about the effects it may have on my baby.

Diet is a game changer for PMR
Going into year 4 with PMR. I have had tremendous success with a diet of clean eating. Protein meal replacement drink mix and 30 days without Wheat,Dairy or Sugar has enabled me to live pain free. Sugar is the worst culprit for pmr.

DePrescribing Site Woes
I'm really, really sorry that so many are having trouble accessing the site I posted earlier on medicines to be wary of because of age, I am not a member of that site and have never had to "sign in" so I don't know what the difference is but in this post I'll try to send along some more accessible information

Hi everyone, I thought that some of you might find this interesting, it's a trial at the new Hackney Diabetes centre aimed at making type 2 Diabetes go into remission with a low calorie diet for 3 months followed by a healthy diet plan. This is the first one in the country so let's hope it's a success

Gestational Diabetes
I’m 28+2 and was diagnosed with GD after Xmas and I’ve not taken then diagnoses very well (off work with anxiety) I’m usually very strong and laid back but this has cracked me. I am asking if anybody has had this with their pregnancy and what the baby was like (complications? Risks? Weight?) and did

Diabetes -warning
Hi I'm 71 year old man - diagnosed with PMR last spring and now tapered down to 11/12mgs pred from starting dose of 30mgs. One of the side effects of pred which doesn't seem to be widely mentioned is the possibility of steroid -induced hyperglycemia(high blood sugar). Symptoms are extreme tiredness

High Calprotectin??
Hey! I’ve had a faecal calprotectin test done and it came back at 1,260. Am I wrong to be super anxious ? I had a colonoscopy last week and am waiting to hear the results but was just wondering if I should be worried or just calm myself down 😭😭
