Steroid and diuretic
Update. I'm still wiped out from prednisone, and just found out that my potassium level is below normal! Research shows that steroids and diuretics can cause a drop in potassium! That explains this weakness! (I have dropped the diuretic, which I probably did not need anyway, and am keeping watch on BP

Blood test - fasting required?
I have a blood test arranged for 10am tomorrow - I suspect hypothyroidism. Is it worthwhile fasting before the appointment or does it not make a difference? GP hasn't advised anything but I want to make sure my results are as accurate as possible

Substitute for levothyroxine
Hi everyone! I am currently on 50 mcg levothyroxine diagnosed with Hashimoto’s since 2012. Recently i have seen a homeopath who suggested gradually to substitute the levothyroxine with natural lamb hormone homeopathic remedy. Is anyone out there who had an experience with such substitution? Does it

Hello friends, My fasting sugar reading is around 115 and 2 hours after food is 170. I am not taking any medicine yet. I have hypertension also but well under control with medicine. Last August I had to install 2 stents in my heart artery which was blocked 99%. I am taking blood thinners with bp medicine

Natural diuretic
Does anyone have any information about natural diuretics? My Mum has started to need them as a result of her last exacerbation (she’s end stage COPD). She takes something beginning with F but suffers nasty side effects that hurt her ears. She knows she needs the diuretic, but looking for alternatives

GA or Sedation
Hi I have just read a post about this re. Ablation. When I had my ablation I had sedation and couldn't remember anything afterwards. On Monday I will be having a knee replacement surgery and will have to make that choice again. I was thinking of having spinal anaesthetic plus sedation instead of a general

Diabetes type 2 obesity and Intermittent fasting. 🍽
Hi everyone, This Monday it was on the news that someone is diagnosed with type 2 diabetes every 3 minutes in England and Wales alone, which 200K every year and growing. Fasting can help some people lose weight and prevention is better than cure as diabetes can lead to some very serious consequences.

Raised glucose
Diagnosed last Jan PMR/GCA, put on 40 mg pred. Now at 11.25. I took a metabolic panel blood test on Feb 7 which showed non-fasting glucose at 101 mg/dL ((70-99 mg/dL). Checking earlier tests, all non-fasting, I t was 104 last May, 92 in July, 117 in Sept, 99 in November. Seems to have jumped

High Cholesterol, High Triglycerides, High Blood Pressure and Atherosclerosis: A Potential Remedy?
PWPs seem to have a myriad of health issues in conjunction with PD. Four very common ones are atherosclerosis (AS), high blood pressure (HBP), high triglycerides (HT) and high cholesterol (HC). Wouldn't it be great if there were one supplement that could potentially treat all four problems at the same
