Thanks annastatia. It only took me having a heart attack to spur me on. Please don’t do it my way 🤣🤣

in reply toShoshov

I had my heart attack about 3 years ago. Not sure why to be honest . I blamed a new medication doc prescribed for high blood pressure hat made me cough and cough . It was over Xmas and as I had another appoint with him on 12 th Jan I waited till then to see him. Had the HA the next day. He called the ambulance. I survived.😀 I've basically just sat on my rear end since. I now need to follow your example with exercise but with severe Copd it's not easy. I wish you the very best. You are obviously a determined person....well done to you .👏

Wow! How did you achieve that fit?

Hi lutaaya basically hard work. I walk 12 to 15 km a day. As I live in Scotland that includes hail rain and snow. I have to say my mind was on helping heal my heart. Didn’t even think of effect on diabetes. Shiona

Hi Shoshov, I was diagnosed with diabetes last Thursday so still new to the game and frankly overwhelmed.

Hopefully I will be discharged from hospital tomorrow so I can start on a new healthy eating regime with moderate exercise.

Your post gives me hope.

Hi cat mad I was silly with mines. Never had obvious symptoms so just ate what I wanted which I have to say was pretty healthy. My downfall was being inactive. I’m a driving instructor so sit in a car all day. That’s my biggest change since heart attack. If I can give you any advice it would be increase your activity. It’s hard work but if I can do it so can you. Good luck my friend and if I can help in any way just ask. Shiona

Many thanks Shiona, I have been a couch potato for too long.

I will certainly be seeking your advice so thanks so much for the offer.

All the very best

Hi Shiona, I hope you are still doing well. You did say to shout if I needed advise so I am taking you at your word. 😁

Through diet I have kept my blood sugar level to between 5 and just under 10 except for yesterday’s bedtime reading which was a whopping 22.3. I didn’t have anything out of the ordinary so wondered if you have had that happen.

Thanks my friend

Sue

Yeah it happens now and again. I call them my rogue readings. As long as it’s not regularly high. It’s not as daunting as we imagine. But well done and keep up the good work❤️shiona

Thanks very much Shiona, I feel much easier now. It was back to 6.8 this morning so as you say a rogue reading. 🥰 Sue x

It’s a bit of a shock when it happens but it always goes back to normal next time. 😀

Fantastic!! Now I believe it really can happen after all. Thanks and good luck. 💐
