Alcohol, sugar, and tremors
I recently asked if anyone else had noticed alcohol reduced tremors, and 3 others said yes (rhyspeace, becky, rons). Has anyone else noticed this effect? Has anyone else tried to check it and noticed that it did NOT have an effect? I tried testing with glucose, but the effect did not seem as strong

Dose 1 onboard, once a week from now on, then in 3 weeks first reduction in pred, then onward. See my new primary care tomorrow with loads of questions from my visit at the Rheumy. In reviewing my labs since June, it looks like my white cell count spikes every time I've been below 40mg. So we're discussing

Ok confused!
Just noticed my hair and eyelashes are falling out/thinning! Brief history: total thyroidectomy due to papillary carcinoma in 2002. Been ok on t4 although took ages to get dosage right over the years. Have always felt better when I was 'over medicated' according to test results. Since having a baby

Thyroid scan normal?
My doctor suspected that I have hypothyroidism, or some other problem with my thyroid. I had an extensive thyroid panel done and the results were basically normal. He still suspected that there was a problem with my thyroid so I had a thyroid scan where I ingested radioactive iodine and then they looked

Sugar & alcohol reduce tremors? Undiagnosed diabetes?
Has anyone noticed their resting tremor reduces with a good dose of sugar or alcohol? Like a soda (11 teaspoons of sugar) or a full beer (4 teaspoons of alcohol). The idea is that cells which are not able to produce much energy from compromised mitochondria can function better on a sugar or alcohol

CKD level 4
After being diagnosed with CKD level 4 three months ago I was advised by my GP to stop taking Metformin which I use to control my diabetes. I now have to test my glucose levels every day with a meter and I am finding my reading creeping up to sometimes past the 10.00mml level. I have also started to

Continuous Glucose Monitors

Weight Loss Decreases Atrial Fibrillation Burden, Severity
Weight loss combined with close management of hypertension and other risk factors results in fewer atrial fibrillation (AF) events and less symptom burden in highly symptomatic patients with AF vs risk factor management alone, a new study shows. The new findings are important because no previous studies

I am officially considered pre-diabetic(to add to the other "stuff")
I got the call today that I qualify for the next part of the study(If you saw my earlier msgs- if not , it is an NIH funded study on pre-diabetes to see if diabetes can be prevented/moderated- I am still not sure of the nature of the condition/illness). Since it was a voice msg I did not get my A1C.

Left shoulder / rear rib cage pain?
I suffer from occasional severe bouts of "reactive hypoglycemia" and am working to control that through diet (no chocolate) and
Dextrose
(when the symptoms start). I have had two bouts of losing consciousness due to this!! so am now booked to meet a gastroenterologist - Fingers crossed.

Acute pain in my hip bone to my toes. Vit D and Calcium deficiency
I'm 26 years old female. Back in 2012 I got a benign tumor surgery of an overgrown bone under my left leg's knee. Got it removed. Reports were all clear but I still had a Calcium and Vit D deficiency. I didn't do anything for these deficiencies though. Now in 2015 pain in joints wrists, knees and shoulders

Armour and Erfa...for the 1000th time
I am not sure what happened to Erfa (I only know what I read on STTM), but Armour was reformulated about six years ago, and most of the
dextrose
was replaced with cellulose. The question I ask myself is: everyone seems to agree cellulose impairs thyroid hormone absorption.
