Hi, just had an NHS medical and need help reading results please. Not thyroid tests just general health though I told the nurse I was starting self medication with T3 as doctor refuses to treat me as my TSH is only 5.9 :( The nurse also included a renal profile and a Plasa fasting glucose level. Thanks in advance..... Loraine x

Hi Stig, I was watching a video on You Tube and he was explaining a lot of blood tests very nicely. I was hoping I had it bookmarked but I didn't. This man is talking about some of them though which might help. youtube.com/watch?v=GUM9DsM...

Stig, this is a list of other blood tests from the Stop the Thyroid Madness Website. He explains each one. I know our bloods are usually off until we are optimal but you might want to supplement in the meantime. Definitely B vitamins. drkaslow.com/html/blood_cel...

Hi Stig5882, all I am looking at is your TSH range, the normal is between 0.03 and around 4 or less 3.5, so 5.9 is out of range, but it's not the range really, it's how you feel. Your doc is in the wrong not to treat you with T4, and test all of the others as well.

Not sure just having T3 will help much, without the T4 as well.

I am on 125mcg of T4 and self-medicate with T3, 2 x 25mcg tabs in half per day, totaling 50 mcg that I bought in Crete, got stacks of it. Never felt better. Was on T4 only for 10 years, now since July, and my introduction of T3, got my life back.

Here are the Thyroid Uk ranges:-

I wonder what your Free T3 and Reverse T3 is?

Thanks for your reply. xx Taking T3 has already stopped the breathlessness I was experiencing and hopefully it will help the excess weight in time. ? I have no idea as regards Free T3 or reverse T3 as doc won't okay the tests but in tme I intend to confront her with the evidence that T3 is what I need. All in good time. Thankyou for replying. xx
