Ditched my meds
After years of being on cymbalta I was able to taper down and stop taking them. Two weeks pill free with the help of cannabis and the gym. Brain zaps are 90% gone. We can either surround ourselves with other depressives and wallow in our existence and ride the dopamine high of someone digitallly virtue

Free ebook of 300 pages:"Parkinson's here and now. 27 years searching for a cure for Parkinson's disease (1994-2021)."
This coming Monday (if everything goes as planned) I will publish on my blog "Parkinson's here and now" the link to a free book of about 250-300 pages and in printable pdf format, which collects the most interesting of the book I published in 2015 (now translated into English) as a tribute to my father

Chapter 17. I dream of the revolution that must come... 2/2.
This is chapter 17 of a book I published in 2015, "A Different Way of Looking at Parkinson's. Almost 20 years of experience with my father's disease (1994-2012)" (only in Spanish). Although we have learned a lot more since that year, I think it can still be useful to most sufferers and family members

Help with weaning off Pramipexole (newbie)
I always find it difficult to explain my restless legs to someone who has not experienced it before. I don’t think people really understand how bad it can be to live with RLS. It is not something you can see and you do not look sick. You just look weird not being able to sit still. For me, the best way

Low-active COMT genotype and stimulant therapy
I have ADHD that I've been treated for off and on throughout my life. Recently, I sought psychostimulant treatment as I was having trouble being interested in projects at work that were necessary and prolonged. We started off with Adderall IR 10mg. In the past, I have tolerated Ritilan and Adderall

Smoking cessation drug shows potential to treat Parkinson's disease in females

Emoxypine - RLS free for 3 weeks
I can't hold this information any more. I was very sceptical, but now I can say it works. 3 weeks ago I went through a 7 days course of an experimental Russian drug called Emoxypine (125 mg oral + 100 mg intramuscularly - into my buttock). The efffect was quite shocking. My dopamine has been elevated

Only if you have not taken dopamine drugs
There is a study (phase 2) for a drug referred to as NLY01-PD-1 by a company named Neuraly. it is a very well tolerated drug that is commonly used for diabetes. Early data shows it slows the progression of PD and demonstrated symptom relief. They are looking for PWP that have not taken any dopamine

Sesaminol prevents Parkinson's disease by activating a signaling pathway
FYI - ( see article in link for pics/graphs) https://medicalxpress.com/news/2021-03-sesaminol-parkinson-disease-pathway.html Researchers report that the chemical sesaminol, naturally occurring in sesame seeds, protects against Parkinson's disease by preventing neuronal damage that decreases the production

Hi All - I'm currently on a 1mg rotigotine patch and have been for the last two years. Recently I've been suffering from extreme fatigue do you think this could be the rotigotine patch? I know tiredness and feeling "faint" are side effects but according to the information I have on the side effects,

Blood test done now chat with doctor
Hi. I’ve finally had my blood tests done and am having telephone consultation with doctor at 5pm tonight (GMT). If my ferritin level is ok. What’s my next option. I don’t want dopamine agnostic as it sounds terrible. Am I best asking for pregabalin or gavapentin ? I’m in UK. And am 69. XXX

Is Parkinson's disease a lifestyle disease? 1. Parkinsonian lifestyle (higher risk).
(Excerpt from the book I am writing now. I hope you find it useful). Is Parkinson's disease a lifestyle disease? 1. Parkinsonian style (increased risk of developing the disease) I have less and less doubts about the existence of a "Parkinsonian" way of life, which predisposes and increases the risk

My fasting blood sugar was hovering around 78- 90 for the last two months. I had posted my last HBA1C as 5.8 a month back- if you recall my post in this forum. A couple of days back when I consulted my Endo , he advised that 78-85 is low for me if I desire to gain some healthy weight ....also to avoid
