I do a water aerobics class five mornings a week and the pool is freezing when I get in. It takes about three to five minutes for my body to acclimate to it and then I do a one-hour class. I would think this total immersion in cold water would be even more of a dopamine-producing shock than a cold shower. Any suggestions for how I might test this?

Do you notice your cd/ld lasting longer after class?

Great question, ConnieD. I'm going to pay attention to that for a few weeks and see. I never go to the pool on Sundays so that could be my "placebo."

I often have a cold shower last thing at night, but only if I exercise on a stationary bike. That and a decent amount of melatonin helps me sleep.
