sharing my 2 cents...
Another friend in group has had 2
DBS
surgerys , 1 each yr at Lahey in Ma. She't great, 1 pill a day from 10 and no problems. So we've seen a surgery done on cd and the science to great. I'm glad if no other drugs are out in the near future, I can fall back on
DBS
and be comfortable.

PEOPLE WITH DBS WHO HAVE TIPS FOR AND AFTER SURGERY
Hi I'm getting
dbs

Dostinex helps RLS
I have had RLS for about 20 years, it used to drive me nuts. Then i was diagnosed with a pituitary adenoma. For treatment I was given Dostinex (cabergoline). Suddenly my rls improved a lot. About 3 year's ago I was taken off Dostinex and guess what, my RLS returned with a vengeance. Dr started me on

zero's experience
I had
DBS
in June 2013. I am going for a change of battery end of August because the battery was deemed too weak when I went for review in June. Meds have seemed to refuse me from Bromocriptine, Syndopa plus, now since June 2017 Syncapone 100.

Non-invasive ultrasound holds new promise for those with Essential Tremor
The advantage of focused ultrasound is that patients don’t need an incision in the skull, which is necessary with deep brain stimulation, or
DBS
, Tierney said. In addition,
DBS
carries a 1 percent risk of stroke and 4 percent risk of infection, he said.

Neuro patch
I am having
DBS
surgery this fall, but in the meantime, am taking 10 Sinemet 25/100 tabs daily. On/off periods are the norm, so I am considering wearing the patch. Looking for anyone with experience (good/bad) with the patch.. Thanks!!

DBS...feeling pressured & can't decide!
During my last apt., I was very surprised when my Neurologist highly suggested the
DBS
surgery. In 2 wks I go for my brain scan & interview with Surgeon & Psychologist, but not sure I'm ready for this or if I want it.

DBS Denied. Any recourse?
My sister was denied
DBS
after having been told she was an ideal candidate. The neuropsych evaluator decided she didn't meet the criteria. Initially she was told she would have to wait 6 months to be reevaluated, then it was a year.
