DBS SURGERY SCHEDULED
It has taken me 8 months to complete all the requirements for
DBS
surgery (psychological assessments, MRI, and then waiting for a surgery date). I am scheduled for December 15th! If anyone is interested, I would be happy to post my journey through the surgery.

Helping my Younger Brother
He & his doctor agrees that he's ready for
DBS

Let me introduce myself.
•I’m not a candidate for
DBS
since it’s primarily used for severe tremors, which I don’t have. •My primary disabling symptom is freezing, and freezing is a common side effect of
DBS
, so I’m out of luck. Not sure where I’ll go from here. PD-RELATED MEDICAL •Since Dx, I’ve taken several bad falls.

Essential Tremors
A year ago I had
DBS
surgery on the right side and this has proven to be outstanding. I feel that I am in the wrong forum. Maybe there is another forum for essential tremors which may be more beneficial.

"Off's" and Requip problems
Having a lot of "off's" you can consider
DBS
or Duodopa pump. I have had a "pump" for about 6 weeks, haven't really come to terms with it, still needs adjusting. Only " Parkie" tablet I take is Levocar to natten Eating problems and medicines not working.

Has anyone else been though the ordeal of the tests for the brain stimulation only to be told you Carnt have it YET?...
I am 57 years old and I was diagnosed with pd 3 years ago but my doctor reckons I have had it for at least 2 years before that Back in April 2017 my consultant said I seemed to be a perfect candidate for
DBS
would I consider it. I didn’t have to Think twice.

Cognition tests for DBS
Asking those of you who have had
DBS
or who are current candidates: what kind of cognition tests were you given and how well (or badly) did you do on them? Did any of you have a negative evaluation and then another more positive one?

sharing my 2 cents...
Another friend in group has had 2
DBS
surgerys , 1 each yr at Lahey in Ma. She't great, 1 pill a day from 10 and no problems. So we've seen a surgery done on cd and the science to great. I'm glad if no other drugs are out in the near future, I can fall back on
DBS
and be comfortable.
