Post DBS Surgery
It has now been five months since my
DBS
surgery. My brain is healing, the proof of which is that I am again reducing my meds. It is a balancing act - I increase what the Medtronic device is providing and decrease meds.

DBS, having MRI to determine if placement is correct
I had
DBS
3 years ago. It is helping alot but still am on a roller coaster of off and on every two hours. The doc thinks I may not have the right placement of the ekectrodes in the brain. She is recommending an MRI to determine that. Then possibly another surgery to correct.

7 to 10 bowel movements per day. But still constipated
Is there any way I can stop having this amount of bowel movements per day. Been to see the doctor, she said that there was nothing she could give me for my frequent bowel movements and prescribed me with some Colofac (Mebeverine). And some Biocare probiotics 30 billion.

DBS Surgery
Good morning - It is now four months since my
DBS
surgery, and I am feeling stronger every day. The time spent in my blue chair has seen a substantial reduction - in fact, I catch myself avoiding it by folding clothes or dusting, things I don't particularly like.

Hepatic Encepalopathy medications (Lactulose and Rifamixin OR L-ornithine and L-aspartate)
Which medication would be better to treat HE. The doctor is giving my mom L-ornithine and L-aspartate. My mom has HE and is suffering from delusions which are getting worse. I told my sister that Lactulose is a common medication to treat HE as I have read on the internet and told her to ask the doctor

Restless leg cure
Has anyone heard of “deep brain stimulation” as a cure for restless leg syndrome. I have acute hereditary rls and read that Baylor College of Medicine (https://www.bcm.edu/healthcare/care-centers/parkinsons/conditions/restless-legs-syndrome) has a confirm case where the cured RLS through deep brain stimulation

As I move past my 2-1/2 month mark from the
DBS
surgery, I am reminded each day through your postings here that many of you feel lost, as though this disease has won it's battle with you.

Has anyone received the new DBS units?
I’m 3.5 years with my Medtronic unit and I have had a battery replaced a year ago. In general I am pleased with the results but the disease is still running it’s course. Im curious if there’s others out there that have benefited from the new units from St Jude , the infinity or Boston Scienctific,
