Post DBS Surgery

It has now been five months since my DBS surgery. My brain is healing, the proof of which is that I am again reducing my meds. It is a balancing act - I increase what the Medtronic device is providing and decrease meds. My meds at this time are 1 extended release 25/100 sinemet and 1/4 regular relelase 25/100 sinemet about six times per day. The amount I take fluctuates a bit until I reach the balance necessary, but my physical activities are increasing, and I am not unhappy at all at having to work through this. I am now playing golf once a week, walking every day, working out at the gym three times a week, and driving anywhere I want to go.

Life for me post surgery is so improved. I am very thankful for everyone who supported me and thankful that the doctors who guided me through this are supportive.

I’m so happy for you that you got your life back. And that’s what I want . I want to be independent again not relying on everyone to do everything for me.. I hope and pray that my surgery surgery goes as well as yours
