Has anyone received the new DBS units?

I’m 3.5 years with my Medtronic unit and I have had a battery replaced a year ago. In general I am pleased with the results but the disease is still running it’s course. Im curious if there’s others out there that have benefited from the new units from St Jude , the infinity or Boston Scienctific, the Versace.

I have heard that the Versace unit is compatible with the leads from the Medtronic unit thereby allowing a significant upgrade to the capacity to control the stimulation without any brain surgery.... just like changing the battery. Any experience or opinions?

Hi Etterus,

I’m scheduled for DBS in May or June still waiting for actual timing. But I’ve decided on the st Jude’s infinity with directional leads and a smaller Nuero stimulator than Medtronic. The hospital that I’m having it done at doesn’t currently offer the vercise due to some contractual issue.
