Anemia: A Cause of Intolerance to Thyroxine Sodium
This might be fifteen years old, but I cannot remember seeing it posted here! (Occasional repetition isn't such a bad thing either.) Am well aware that getting iron deficiency anaemia resolved is a mantra round here. Nice to see such a simpe statement. [i]

NDT and fillers/binders
There is one thing I have trying to figure out...if sugar is really necessary for optimal absorption of thyroid hormone? It is often said that Armour did not work as well after it was reformulated, and sugar was mostly replaced by cellulose. I have read several times that NDT should be chewed up

Hope someone can advise
I had a blood test recently and my iron levels were technically normal, though my ferritin is 33 (13-150). I have been experiencing all the symptoms of anaemia but my doctor sent me out of his office declaring that with these results there's no way I can have any type of anaemia. Is this correct? Many

Iron
In the past I had low ferritin & have been supplementing fr yrs. Its now much higher at 89. However, I have read that it is important to have a full iron panel which includes CBC, serum iron and transferrin saturation rate etc in addition to just ferritin. I am wondering just how necessary it is to

Iron pills.
I have finally had results of my blood tests for iron levels. The results shows that I am slightly low but not anaemic. I have been given a low dose of ferrous fumerate and to take one a day. I know it's a long shot but hope that it might help.

Blood Analysis Kindly Requested!
Thank you so much for all your excellent replies to my previous posts. My doctor has highlighted my B12 as being high and wants me to reduce. l started injecting every other day for the past month and my level jumped from 268 to over 1400. Seems excessive though l've heard this is common when you start

Has anyone started on NDT whilst iron/ferritin is rock bottom?
Hi - I'm going through the preparations stages (loads of relevant blood testing) before I take the leap to go and see someone privately to get NDT prescribed. I've been on T4 only for over 2 years and I still have some hypo symptoms. I have ongoing problems with iron deficiency - my ferritin is currently

Iron deficiency
Hi, I've had a recent blood test that shows very low iron levels. Anyone else have the same issue? If so, can anyone recommend options as my stomac cannot tolerate iron tablets. Thanks, Jay

Ferritin
I've just got my latest ferritin result and it is still too low - 25 ug/l (range 12-250 but I understand it really needs to be above 50). Over the past several years I've had it tested several times and it has varied from 18 to 38. I've been taking iron supplements for several years - 15-18 mg/day for

OK, so I just found this quite interesting article which In include it its entirety: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dr-mark-hyman/6steps-to-heal-your-thyro_b_7603868.html I especially wonder about the part at the end, about NDT being difficult to dose: "That was true with the old Armour, not the new
