B12 deficiency and Potassium deficiency
Hi All Do any of you have a b12 deficiency and a potassium deficiency? I'm asking as some of the symptoms are similar to that of the b12 and I'm wondering if I should have my potassium checked out also. Recently been having a lot of pain in the heart area. Thanks

Paramedic views on B12 deficiency
I recently had to call out a paramedic. I had been tired and a bit breathless and generally unwell for several days and then developed other more concerning symptoms (didn't have co-vid19 as no cough or temperature). My call to 111 service for advice resulted in the arrival of an ambulance. When the

Low iron levels
Have been prescribed ferrous fumarate as my iron levels are low which may be causing my breathlessness. I have had ECG and xray etc and they are ok. Wondered if anyone else has had this problem and how long these tablets take to work.

Blood test advice, specifically Iron
I am currently on 100mcg of thyroxine, but have been struggling over the last year with tiredness and dizziness, dry skin, hair loss. I did a private test last year (I will attach more pics in the comments), this identified low vit D and folate and also low ferritin. I took this to my GP who advised

b12 injection query
ACTIVE B12 49.8 37.5 - 187.5 Recent bloods showed my iron stores good on the upper end of the scale. My folate was 10 in January and I have been supplementing since My Active B12 is just in range. If I inject B12 will it make my iron too high or does it not affect iron. I get shortness of breath

Parkinsons Disease and B12 deficiency
Hi All, Saw this link on a recent thread and thought I'd draw attention to it. https://parkinsonsnewstoday.com/2020/03/27/possible-link-between-vitamin-b12-and-dementia-in-parkinsons-disease/ I had both dementia symptoms and tremors when at my worst and suspect that sometimes people are misdiagnosed

What helped my ferritin - hopefully helps someone :)
Hey there, I've decided to share some good news! I have tried everything to increase my ferritin, it was always a bit low in range. I have tested in September 2019 and it was 52 (13-150) which is about 28% of range. I was already happy with it because previously it had been even lower. I went for tests

Ferritin v Haeomoglobin
Evening all I noticed on a previous post a reference to Ferritin tests, I dont think I have ever seen this test on my exhaustive list! Is it the same test as checking your HB to see if your anaemic or is it something else (Dr. dreaded Google says) to do with ' a protein in the body that contains iron

NHS website - Blood tests for iron deficiency anaemia
Just happened to notice this paragraph when I was checking something else entirely.
Blood tests for iron deficiency anaemia
Your GP will usually order a full blood count (FBC) test. This will find out if the number of red blood cells you have (your red blood cell count) is normal

Best Iron Supplement to up Iron & Ferritin levels
Hi My Iron and Ferritin are always on the low side. Recently my iron was 13, 3 months before it was 8 and ferritin never seems to go above 30. I am currently on 1 ferrous fumarate daily 210mg, but this never seems to increase levels higher. I can't tolerate two a day as I get a very bad stomach. I have

Are iron injections available privately or via the Nhs in the UK
Hi, gp's and hospital Dr's have stated iron injections are no longer available in the UK. Wondered if this is true for private? I believe i may need them as i have previously been diagnosed as iron deficient. However ferritin levels high at the time of diagnoses. I suffered brain fog, exhaustion and

Dangers of b12
I read this on web MD - is it correct? Vitamin B12 is LIKELY SAFE for most people when taken by mouth, applied to the skin, taken through the nose, administered as a shot, or injected into the vein (by IV). Vitamin B12 is considered safe, even in large doses. Mild itching has been reported in one person

My husband got off Imbruvica to switch to Gazyva and Venetaklax combo as Imbruv stopped working and he got anemia as hemoglobin was very low 7.1. Then he had to get 2 blood transfusions within 10 days and hemog is now a 9. Has anyone experienced low neutriphils, platelts, and hemoglobin while on Gazyva
