Can you help with iron panel blood test please

Ferritin. 67. Range 30-470

RBC. 3.7. 3.80-5.30

Haemoglobin 117. 120-150

Haematacrit 0.36. 0.37-0.45

I had been told in the past it was anaemia of a chronic illness. But with my ferritin level where it is surely I could improve this with some treatment. (Didn’t have results in those occasions)

I was told then to higher the ferritin level could be bad but there’s plenty of room surely ! Thank you in anticipation of your expert assistance.

Those results suggest anaemia but they are not an iron panel, they are from a full blood count.

An iron panel includes:

Serum Iron

Transferrin Saturation

Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC)

Ferritin

So the GP s don’t do that test ?

Where can I get the one that you suggest is to give the correct info.

I don't see why a GP couldn't do an iron panel.

I have done an Iron Deficiency Check with Medichecks which tests all those. Not because my GP wouldn't do it - I didn't ask - I did it for my own information, I tend to do a lot of self help as my surgery is pretty useless.
