Hi All

Do any of you have a b12 deficiency and a potassium deficiency?

I'm asking as some of the symptoms are similar to that of the b12 and I'm wondering if I should have my potassium checked out also. Recently been having a lot of pain in the heart area.

Thanks

Some people with PA do suffer from low potassium. But that's normally only during the first few weeks of supplementation, and then only if they had been suffering from macrocytic anaemia.

As Hidden says, see your doctor ASAP.

If the chest pains get any worse then call 911.

If they get very bad, call 999.

Thank you. Its pain I have had for a week and not persistent.

I have had pericarditis before now and it feels a bit like that so I have just waited it out.

If it gets worse then yes I shall get it looked at.

Cheers for your reply

Yes always best to check anything out with a blood test and your doctor.

Potassium rich foods are potatoes bananas coconut water ect

Also get your heart listened to.

I get pains around my heart among other things occasionally. Had one echo cardiogram in a and e once.

Always get any concerns checked out.

I was told not to be concerned about palpitations as well. They have gone.

I had my potassium tested right at the start of treatment. Usually on full bloods I think.
