Possible Borderline Hypothyroidism
Hi, I am new to this forum but after test results reading all I can. After not feeling well for a couple of years after a major op I asked my GP for an iron test. Iron was fine, but she also tested for thyroid which I have never had before. Reading other posts and articles, it looks like I could

I'm off pramipexole almost a year now!! I take no meds (since a year) and have moved from chronic RLS to mild- moderate. I sleep at night in blocks of 3 and 4 hours. In between I watch light tv on YouTube like Poirot, nothing too exciting! It takes my mind off the restlessness. Too much stretching at

Why do you need cholesterol?
This was copied from an email I got so don’t go shooting the messenger if you don’t agree :). “I have been trying for years, decades actually, to raise my cholesterol. Finally after a more significant (call it strict if you like) change in diet, it’s happening and that’s a good thing. You see, low cholesterol

Tricky Thyroid Patient! Advice please.
Hello, I have pasted my recent results below. Is anyone else known as a tricky thyroid patient?! These results are after a daily increase to 125mcg in July. My TSH has never been so low! However, I don't really feel any different. I feel 'flat' and fat! Still cannot lose weight and a couple of stones

Will coming off fluoxetine stop RLS?
I’ve been on fluoxetine for 9 yrs and had RLS for the past 3. Sometimes it seems to effect arm and side of face as well as legs, either down one side or another. Usually starts around 9pm. I sit in cold bath 2-3 x nightly to numb legs enough to get some sleep. It often wakes me up and I have to sit

Back up to 40 mg pred
I wrote here how I was down to 10mg pred in 4 months. You all said that was too fast and I didn’t want to believe you. My headaches were coming back so rheumatologist upped it to 15. It’s been 6 days and I still have headaches. Today he upped it to 40mg to get the inflammation under control. Both sed

First T3 prescription - advice on starting please. Fitting in Iron and Vit supplements too
Hello, I’ve had my first Endo (private) appointment today and he has suggested a trial of T3 on a starting dose of 15mcg taken in 3 doses of 5mcg. I am to reduce my Levo from 125mcg to 100mcg. I am hugely hopeful T3 will help to alleviate my debilitating symptoms and I can have my life back. My questions

Alcoholic experiencing liver tenderness and random pains yet ultrasound and bloods do not indicate cirrhosis.
I’ve had shoulder pain, random liver pains and occasionally my lower right rib cage is tender to even touch. I explained my concerns to my doctor, had blood screening and full abdominal ultrasound, gallbladder, liver, kidneys, aorta etc we’re all within the norm, the spleen slightly on the large side

Help with vitamins and iron status
I wrote a rather rambling post last week, probably confused everyone. Hypo after RAI, changed from 125to 100/125 levo 10 weeks ago, Endo not happy with T4 (23). Now I'm not happy. TSH 2.75, T3 4.07, T4 20.8 All bloods taken first thing in the morning fasting. I've had a problem with high ferritin

Have I a good argument for T3?
My Endo is desperate to discharge me. We had a discussion on the 4th may about reducing my Levo from 125 to alternating 100/125, told him I’m unwell on that dosage. I also queried the possibility of T3, apparently he does prescribe it He arranged numerous blood tests which later I discovered didn't
