vitamin C to defend against diseasecausing inflammation, says vitamin C researcher Thomas Levy, MD. And since the primary cause of pain is inflammation, vitamin C supplements can work wonders. The caveat? Standard C is poorly absorbed by the body, he says. But liposomal C, a form where the vitamin is encased in fat, is absorbed nearly 100 percent

Vitamin C for pain
Vitamin C. Ascorbic acid.
“Roy Propsner from my experience, good quality ascorbates in powder form are well absorbed and utilised.
The early research on C by people like Klenner, Manner and Dettman were with sodium ascorbate and calcium ascobate. However, these days there are many excellent mixed ascorbate supplements that are well absorbed.
I only prescribe liposomal C if there are gut challenges as it lacks bioflavanoids, is usually a single ascorbate and is more expensive. It is useful for some post bowel surgery or with other gut challenges.”

Are bioflavonoids a positive addition?
Copy“Bioflavonoids are found in the rind of green citrus fruits and in rose hips and black currants.
Bioflavonoids have been used in alternative medicine as an antioxidant to treat osteoarthritis and other inflammatory conditions, to support blood circulation and a healthy heart, and enhance the action of vitamin C.”
I have 2 comments on this, my friend.
1. Even if it is poorly absorbed by the body, it has to pass through every cell before it reaches the kidneys and gets filtered out. The body will take what it needs.
2. I had some experience with using Vit C for pain, particularly Lumbar spinal stenosis. I got a wealth of info from doctoryourself.com where they swear that megadoses of vitamin c cures just about everything., citing all this famous guy Linus Pauling nobel prize winner's research. I took over 20,000 mg a day for about a year and it didnt do squat for my pain. I was that hopeful and didnt give up for a long time. Didnt hurt me by taking it, I think....except that that was right before I got diagnosed with Parkinsons. I dont think theres a connection there but you know, I can never be sure what really caused my PD. Im not saying that did, just to be clear, but I cant say it didnt either.
Good luck Amigo!
I love oranges! That's mostly my Vitamin C intake in the winter. We also take Liposomal Vitamin C amazon.com/Nutrascience-Meg...
I had a doctor tell me 9 years ago, right after I was diagnosed, to take as many vitamins as possible either chewable, as powder mixed with liquids, or absorbable under the tongue. She said studies showed that pill form often comes out exactly as it went in.
Inflammation is generally caused by the body to create a healing response...NF-kb produces inflammation....certain foods can alleviate the production of NF-kb....such as tumeric...curcumin ...and plant extracts like olive leaf...quercetin....boswella....vitamin C ascorbate from magnesium or potassium does not increase acidity...but ascorbic acid does...the aim is to make your body more alkaline...so foods like bananas can help....avoid sugar for this reason...foods that increase acid...increase inflammation too.
