Kiwis are winter fruits, ripen from October to May that are not only packed with vitamin C to increase strength for our immune system but also bring out the warmth and tropical feeling when enjoying them during colder months now. I had some at home and my mom gave me some too so I decided to make kiwi jam and pie, tasty an. ππ
Kiwi jam recipe:
Kiwi is one of the fruit that has natural pectin so they make perfect ingredient to make jam.
I roughly cut one box of ripen kiwis (about 20 fruits) and cook in medium heat pot with juice of 2 small lemons and 2 tbsp of cane sugar. Let it stew until liquid evaporated. Let it cool. I save a bit in airtight container to have with avocado and the rest is used for pie filling. I used the same ingredients to make pie crust and empanada like last time. I made 2 mini pies, I froze one for another time. ππ
It is sort of sour kiwi lemon pie and perfectly paired with Chamomile flower tea Iβve enjoyed so much on this rainy day. π§π«π₯§ππ
