My Endo is desperate to discharge me. We had a discussion on the 4th may about reducing my Levo from 125 to alternating 100/125, told him I’m unwell on that dosage. I also queried the possibility of T3, apparently he does prescribe it
He arranged numerous blood tests which later I discovered didn't include T3 instead there was a request for coeliac disease! This was after i mentioned I was trialing a gluten free diet, told him I didn't fit the profile but had read, and was also informed by his nurse practitioner, that it can prove beneficial to people with hypothyroidism (afterRAI). All blood tests are taken fasting and at approx 8.15 am
26th March (Medichecks)
TSH 1.08 (0.27-4.2)
T3 4.72 (3.1-6.8)
T4 22.7 (12-22) Ferritin 345 (13-150)
From May appointment i was instructed to continue pending review in 2 months on 125 Levo
5th July (NHS)
TSH 0.49 (0.27-4.2)
T4 23 (12-22) Ferritin 259 (13-150)
Received letter instructing me to alternate 100/125
22nd Sept (Medichecks) awaiting his call about the NHS test at the same time, TSH and T4 only
TSH 2.75 (0.27-4.2)
T3 4.07 (3.1-6.8)
T4 20.8 (12-22) Ferritin 275 (13-150)
Whilst I might agree in some respects 125 Levo was becoming a problem, hand tremor and very heavy sleep, maybe sleep apneoa? Now on 100/125 my digestive system has slowed right down food just lies in my stomach. bloating. and bowels are sluggish. I have a heavy feeling in the front of my throat, will suddenly lose energy and calve muscles feel weak.
I included the Ferritin because as you can see it started high ( has been for a while) started to come down but now it's rising again. GP is useless, sent a message in January that 345 was normal. Endo didn't pick up on it either. I read that excess Vit C can affect the result so I stopped taking it in May. Any ideas please.
The only other vit I take is Vit D 4000 oral spray. I don't want to confuse the results by playing around too much.
Folate 3.34 (>3.89)
B12 76 (37.5-188)
Vit D 76.9 (50-200) slight improvement since june --73
Many thanks for reading this.
