Health experts criticise NHS advice to take ibuprofen for Covid-19
The first mention of not taking ibuprofen (nurofen) that I was aware of came through in France the other day. I did NOT post because of conflicting views. Today we are seeing confirmation from several sources that taking ibuprofen for covid-19 is questionable. Hence I am now posting. Please read carefully

Wheening off Pred
I am getting closer to weening off Pred and my reumy told me about a speach on cortisone abstinence from an endochrinologist. He meantioned a period when you could experience feeling like flu coming up. Does anyone have any science or information om how to avoid this? Slow taper I guess is important

I have diabetes (type 2 insulin based) and rheumatoid arthritis and am on a new medication called roactemra for arthritis. since it has been working properly my numbers have been low, almost normal. problem is I´m still on cortisone too (which put my numbers high) and am afraid when I come off the cortisone

First Post - Doing the Doxydoe
Hi everyone, here is my story, in mid Dec 2019 I was diagnosed stage 4 prostrate cancer having had no previous symptoms. My gleason score came in at 9 and a PSA of 50, quite a shock. It has invaded into my bladder and closed off my left urethra, so only one kidney is now working, having a stent put in

Subacromial impingment (shoulder pain)
I am waiting for a 'decompression operation' on my right shoulder, having seen a top UK consultant who diagnosed quite a severe form of sub-acromial impingment. However, it may take several months before I have this operation (on the NHS!) and I am suffering from much pain, discomfort and pronounced

What do you think?
I've had PMR for since March 2016. I've reduced my Pred gradually but I've never been pain free until October 2019. The whole month I felt great and was on 4 mg Pred. In November as I was trying the slow reduction to 3.5 mg I started getting stiff and my left wrist hurt and my right foot hurt/swelled

Bursitis and Groin Pain
Hello I’m back on line again. I don’t know why I’ve been absent for so long as this forum not only improves my outlook on PMR but gives me something interesting and educational to read. At the moment I am in rented accommodation due to the floods in Yorkshire. That didn’t help my sore hip and groin

WRIST FUSION
I has SLAC surgery IN May 2019 and still have burning sensation and pain still on movement. Doctor did a Cortisone shot to see about settling it down however it didn't work, Now seeing the new MRI it shows the bone moving down is on fire and the bottom area is cracked off. A total fusion is necessary
