Lymphoedema: Benefits of Methylprednisolone?
I am being tested for markers of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) tomorrow morning...but I think it is obvious I have lymphoedema since I had a two tests earlier this year and the technician showed me the lymph build up in my left ankle/foot. I also have an enlarged elbow (with what looks like a bursa sac

Inflamed rectum - radiation proctitis??
Hi everyone. Proctitis - what does it feel like? For the past 5 days I've experienced the joys of a rectum that feels as though someone has sliced it up like a pizza and poured a bottle of whisky in there! Not at all fun. My gp had a 'look' externally and said "Yes there's inflammation there,

Anti inflammatory pain killers
Last year I developed back and tendon issues with severe sciatica. Apart from a cortisone injection in my back that I had sourced privately the only help I received from GP and consultant was to take anti inflammatory pain killers like Ibruprofen, Namoxen etc. I took their advice against my better judgement

Skin bumps from Tocilizumab?
Hiya, I am new here, but not new to RA. I am 40 years old at the moment and was diagnosed with RA when I was 32. First I was on Sulfasalazine until I got some inflammations that did not want to go away. Tried Methotrexate, after which my doc got me on biologicals, monthly infuses of Tocilizumab (in combination

PMR gone or has it?
So after just over 2 years since diagnosis and the usual bumps I eventually tapered to zero pred last November. The PMR symptoms I started with have gone but I’m now dealing with an acute issue in the left shoulder. I saw a specialist and had MRI scans which showed inflammation in the tendon that runs

Toward safer steroids: Scientists devise process for making precision anti-inflammatory medicines.
A collaboration led by Scripps Research has developed a way to separate the beneficial anti-inflammatory properties of a group of steroids called glucocorticoids from some of their unwanted side-effects, through an optimization process they named “ligand class analysis.” Their process enabled them to

Effects of Cortisone on PD.
Due to acute Lumbosciatica, I am taking Cortisone (Medrol 16 mg) in decreasing doses for several weeks. I note however, that my symptoms (tremors, precarious balance, soft legs, etc.) are significantly increased in intensity. Has anyone ever checked it out?

Please help! What is this painful raised patch of skin on my cheek?
Please help! Does anyone know what this patch of skin is on my cheek? I’ve had it for about 10 years, it used to throb with pain and feel like a sharp bruise when touched. It’s less painful these days but still red, bumpy and raised. The dermatologists I’ve seen have no idea and all I can think of is
